Avenged Sevenfold. Seriously. They are awesome, but I have yet to meet another person IRL that haven't thought they were crap.
Its not that I dont like them, but I find them very... um... bland(?) in the sense that they like to call themselves Metal or have their CDs in the metal sections of CD sellers and really they're just hard rock (if that?). They're the Nickelback of their genre (I know, I can feel the hate, its oka. Its an opinion).
Besides, the only song I've ever heard someone honestly say they've heard from them is Nightmare. And thats just cause you can say fuckin' since its in the lyrics.
OT: I dont think Alice in Chains gets the respect it deserves. At least when its brought up in the comparison to Nirvana, and on the complexity within the band.
Other then that... Smashing Pumpkins, Incubus, um... I wanna say 30 seconds to mars, but its more cause they're "Kings and Queens" and "This is war" songs have been overused for movie trailers and tv spots recently, so they're getting the sell out rap.
Soundgarden too. I know, they used to be really big, but now, its hard to find someone who says they listen to Soundgarden with the same faithfulness that you hear people listen to say... Justin Bieber, Kanye West, Taylor Swift, um.... Metallica, The Doors, The Who, the Rolling Stones, Avenged 7fold, etc.
I mean, Look at their music video for Black Hole Sun (and listen to the song as well)

How can you not think thats awesome (both song and video)?
Oh, you know who else doesnt come up in Conversations too much any more? Eric Clapton.
