started playing on the 27th (Medal of Honor finally proved its worth) and my only gripe is with Battlelog, I HATE that shit. (the following is copied from my post on Kotaku)
First and foremost the Plugin's required to make this work are hit and miss at best and currently the only fix (in firefox, couldn't find a fix for chrome) was to end the plug-in container, reload, and hope it worked. It took me almost an hour to get in game, and that was without the automatic matchmaking because that just plain didn't work. So it fails at its main purpose and this is BECAUSE it's using a browser.
Secondly, not being able to adjust any of my audio settings, graphical settings or keyboard layout without actually being in a match, not just in the game (which is, of course, standard), is retarded. WHO thought that this was a good idea? Even if it's just in the beta, WHO thought that not giving the players a place where they can customize their preference BEFORE starting a match or campaign was a good idea? Christ you can't even change anything when you're dead, you have to be alive. Thanks DICE!
Thirdly, EA puffed up their chests and decreed that "Battlelog is free", aiming a smart-ass gaze at Activision and Modern Warfare 3, and do you know what EA? I can tell it's free; It looks cheap, it feels cheap and it is cheap. We are getting what we paid for. Constantly seeing my desktop when i'm trying to play a game is a sign of a poor game interface (or lack of one), and removing even the most basic functionality for little more than a gimmick is like shooting yourself in the foot because "Hey, Nobody else has got a bullet in their foot, so we should innovate in that regard"
Battlelog is bad and EA/DICE should feel bad.
~~
For the actual gameplay though? I really like it, and i'm not just saying that because so far i've been whooping far much more ass than I'm used to whooping on online FPS's.
