Be Honest, what did you think of QTE's when you first encountered it?

I was playing RE4: Wii Edition.
-Waggle the Wii-Mote-
"What?"
-You died-
"...FUUUUUUUUU..."

I thought, "WTF is a QTE doing in an FPS?" Seriously, I shouldn't need to press F repeatedly just to bring a dagger out of my chest (that in all seriousness should've killed me).

Also, "Must. Not. Destroy. F key."

I was already enraptured by what was happening already, I didn't have to break my F key just to see it through to the end.

"The fu is thi OH NO I died ......." Basically. Then I played Fahrenheit and I don't get bothered by QTE's anymore. Except for Resident Evil 4 which was amazingly stupid at how little time you had to respond.

My first encounter was in Final Fantasy 10 where it earns Tidus his blitzball move. I was ok fun a cutscene, I put the controller down and opened a soda. Suddenly it was like press [button] and I was like...lol what? And it failed...I'm like wtf was that about? I went on with the game, later some one told me what it was supposed to do, I promptly finished the game and threw the disk out.

I think my first and only time with quick time events right now was Tomb Raider Legend. And I hated them.

If you think that was bad in MW2 try playing Prince of Persia on the PC it will completely destroy your keyboard since you basically have to tap the living hell out of your keys at inhuman speeds on every single miniboss fight. Oh and did I mention it is several times per fight?

Dragon's Lair. The home version, not the arcade. I really sucked those ones up bad.

I hope somebody remembers this game. I'm getting tired of explaining it...
Yeah, i know of it.

"OH, SHIT, WHERE'S THE A BUTTON?!"

Seriously the first time I ever really encountered QTEs was in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and I just sort of accepted it as part of the gameplay the same way I accepted that A was to jump. I was more concerned with pressing the button whose location mysteriously disappeared from my mind as soon as I was being asked specifically to press it.

EDIT: I just realised that I encountered one in that one Final Fantasy X cutscene but I didn't understand what I was supposed to do in it, let alone that it was a QTE.

"Oh, shit! This is the next best thing of the industry!" - During Tomb Raider...Legend I think.
A dozen games later: "Ok this is repetitive, but I still can't figure out something more interactive during cut-scenes."
In the present: "Let's enjoy the cut-scene *hands of keyboard* ... oh fuck QTE! NOOOOOO!"

Can't remember the game, but I remember that I didn't mind them. They were just part of the game, and I went along with it, giving no extra thought. I'm at the same mindset now, and it probably won't change.

I think God of War on the PSP. It's the first I can recall anyway.

Those were epic.

Shenmue on the Dreamcast. It was about then that I decided to stop playing it. Maybe Dragon's Lair at the arcade was the first time I saw something like that but I never played it as it seemed like a waste of money.

Stupid - they're either too easy or too hard (Spiderman 3?!), and you don't feel anymore involved (which is what they're supposed to do). I'd rather just watch the cutscene.
