If I am ever able, I'm going to grow a full beard, in all its masculinity and awesomeness. In addition, I will be smoking a pipe and probably sporting some kind of awesome hat.
[sub][sub][sub]The hat will have to be extremely awesome, lest it be overshadowed by the beard[/sub][/sub][/sub]

by the way, to any who can answer, what is a neck-beard precisely?

Facial hair is cool but it itches like hell to keep. Can't stop scratching. Top it off I have the terrible habbit of playing with it partially because of the constant itching. But if you get past that it's cool.

I have a beard...everyone likes it

I hate it...with a passion

(I only have it for a play I'm doing)

I've heard from a few sources that goatees are never bad. Real 3d beards though-- not a fan. They give you that crazy look that the guy from 'The Hangover' exploits.

I have a goatee because my chin hairs come in fine, but if I grow out the hairs on my check they look patchy (no idea why, but I say go for it if you can.

Yes, beards are a good thing. You lose 5 manliness points for doubting the coolness of well-maintained facial hair.

And as for girls whining about wanting a clean-shaven boy toy... do what I do and tell them to get back to you when they're looking for a man, not a boy.

Do it. You'll probably end up hating it. But then do it again a few years later. Then try again etc...

Every guy should try it at least once in their life.

It took me 4 or 5 tries over a number of years to get facial hair right. Now I (finally) have a beard I like and seems to work for me (and I know how to maintain it).

Depends....if it's like this then it's cool.

I think a beard can be pretty cool. But.. I prefer more minimal styles. Soul patches, for example... super sexy. But... try it out. You can't go too wrong. It's just hair that you can trim off again if you don't like it. :D

I don't have a beard, per se, I've got a neat moustache and goatee. Basically what Boromir had in Lord of the Rings but a bit more trimmed.

Good luck with it! Just experiment with it, dude. You can always shave it off and wait a few days for a fresh canvas to return! :D

I cannot stand how I look without my facial hair these days.

Every face has its own look, and some faces really shouldn't havve a beard. Do you want Michael Cera to look even dorkier?

Depends on the dude.

My housemate looks really awesome with a beard, but my older brother just looks completely ridiculous.

YMMV.

Beards are usually a serious "DO NOT WANT" on blonds.

For brunettes they can be useful at hiding weak jaw lines or chins, though I'm not particularly keen on men with extensive facial hair.

Doesn't work for a lot of people- yet again, I think that's because a lot of guys think that growing a beard just means not shaving, and they end up with the creepy neck-beard add-on that ruins any style of beard you could think of- no matter what it is

That and if it's your first time growing a beard, it's best to keep it simple and work your way along, its gonna take a long process if you want it to look decent, unless you want to shut yourself in and just work on growing your beard.

You're the man, Sonicron.

The genetically superior Astartes man, by your avatar :p

Couldn't agree more. A friend of mine refuses to date men without facial hair.
