Now, normally I don't condone violence, unless it is necessary, but in this case, if the teachers won't do anything, Someone has to teach this kid a lesson, HE FREAKING ASSAULTED ANOTHER STUDENT!! He assaulted another human with malicious intent, just for fun. I say kick his ass. Kick it hard.

P.S. Try sneaking up on him, he'll probably end up being a sniveling weakling, so get him off gaurd.

Do whatever is in your long-term best interest. What will it accomplish if you "do unto" this person? Most likely, YOU will be the one to get into trouble. Life, unlike novels and comic books, has a shocking resiliency to attempts to be the cool guy who sets things right. You can't fix people by delivering a beat down, nor will they undergo some magical transformation whereby they realize the error of their ways etc. etc. Anything you do to him will simply be interpreted in such a way as to confirm whatever B.S. constitutes his worldview.

All you can do is make yourself impenetrable to the bullshit by recognizing it for what it is and refusing to contribute to it in any way. This can be a bit difficult to do, but often it means just identifying, loudly and persistently, what is going wrong with the situation. Does your school have PTA meetings? Why not take the girl who was injured to the meeting and tell the story loudly in front of a lot of parents? The combined outrage will very likely give some spine to the teachers who are so focused on avoiding getting in trouble. Why not say "I'm not sitting next to/working with/whatever this guy, he shoots people" whenever it comes up?

Very often the best way to be an asshole is also the easiest way, and it's a lot more satisfying as well.

What the French Connection United Kingdom are you thinking, kid? The boy's a psycho. There's something wrong with him. There's also something wrong with your school, but going apeshit on your local Dennis the menace isn't going to solve that. It's going to get you in a world of administrative hurt - and worse - he could HURT YOU.

It sounds like there is something seriously wrong with this boy. You won't be able to teach him a "lesson" even if you beat the crap out of him. You can't teach healthy people through violence, do you think it'd work on someone who's disturbed? Abandon that idea.

What you have to do is take pictures, get your parents involved, involve the PTA, call the police, call the coast guard, press charges. Get the kid out of your school. Going Batman on his ass sounds cool but it's a fantasy.

Shove a compass up his ass...

Nah, advise her to sue him for "emotional damages".

Edit: It is quite possible that if everyone hates him as you say, that the teachers will ignore him being pummeled. Happened to a friend of mine. He's beating up this proper asshole, teacher looks over at them and then walks back inside.

Hire an untraceable hitman to take of the pest. Pay him in advance, and give him photos and address.

In reality, however, just do nothing. But that's just me. Maybe walk up to him and put him in his place. I f he tries anything, twist his wrist off. It's real easy if you're quick enough.

Wow, he shot a home made arrow into a girl?
Maybe the parents should stop letting him watch Rambo...

This is one of those cases where a pure democracy would be better than a republic.

@AC10: Did you read the comments made on this post? Direct democracy would be chaos. Besides, if the bloodthirsty mob had their way you'd be stringing people up for sneezing. There's got to be some kind of balance - a compromise - between representation and bureaucracy .

Take it to the cops. That pen-cap attack was definitely illegal under the law and he can be punished. If enough people give testimonial, there's definite grounds for punishment. Also, if you think the rules are unjust, present your opinion to whoever can change it. Getting more people behind it will help. Just don't be as horrible a person as him, if you hurt him, _he_ might report that. Also, what's with this "chivalry" thing you have, and how does it only apply to women?

Yes, but it would be a chaos that the majority of people would be okay with.

Man, back in my day, if a kid was like that, a group of white hats would get together and jump the dude. They'd then gag him and tape him to the football goal post with no clothes on. Pictures were taken and used as blackmail. The literal humiliation and the threat of future humiliation kept the bullies in line for awhile.
Wow, I change my advice to this. Brilliance.

well, that's why this is one of those cases. I know how a full democracy would be, I just feel like... everyone seems to hate this kid and the law is clearly failing to punish.

Dude, I'm not sure how this is your problem. Shouldn't issues like this be dealt with by the school?
The problem is the school system is obviously ineffective & will not deal with the problem.

But yeah, search out a peaceful solution at first and if (& only if) you've exhausted every option and still nothing has happened then just try to scare the shit out of him without really beating him to a pulp (as McClaud suggested). Actual violence might just escalate the problem and make him flip out and do something everyone'll regret.

Well, I have been dealing with these types of people since, oh, the third grade, And I can tell you that no matter what you do, he will probably win. If you ignore him, he keeps it up and lords over his subjects, but if you attack him, A) He gets to ham it up as the victim, and B) he gets the attention he wants. So, the best way to deal with this problem is this: Administration. If the upper staff wont do anything about it, and the superintendent and up wont do anything about it, then follow this contingency plan:

Ruin His Life Forever.

Be as simple as you can about it. Going to the Media is a good option, as violence and criminal activity help news raitings, and once it is on the TV, people start paying attention. He could even end up in jail for what he has done. Even if he does not end up behind bars, his name would immediatly get blacklisted by most corporations, and it would be a rare day that he even gets a upgrade to something as small as a managment position for the Tire section at Wal-Mart.

Whatever you do, Let us know how it turns out, ok?

I am not chivalrious, but I suggest you beat the hell out of that kid. Just be aware he may have friends, which may mean you'll have to deal with people other than him.
sound like the kid might not have any

but I agree beat his ass

Does he ride a bike? throw sand in the gears
or you can sit next to him on a test and half way through yell "STOP LOOKING AT MY PAPER"

Considering I'm from an ethnic minority that was severely - and violently - persecuted in Europe, I wouldn't be happy with it.

You should know that giving people unlimited power and divided responsibility leads to bad things.

The fundamental flaw of all child psychology pertaining to bullies is that it works under the premise that bullies are working under a coherent logic that can be reasoned with. There's no logic to bullying people; it's like you said, he just enjoys the suffering of others. This is the kind of ethical stalemate that allows serial killers and power-mad dictators to flourish in the age of reason.

When I first read your post, my knee-jerk reaction was: "Beat the **** out of him and knock some sense into the little monster!" but then chances are that's probably going to give him exactly what he wants. If trying to reason with him and talk to him just fuels his fire, imagine what coming down to his level might do.
Then again....
Some people are so introverted, so wrapped up in their own little joys, the only thing that will jar their sense of reality is a wake up call in the form of... well, back to the knee-jerk. I've been bullied enough times to know that fighting doesn't really solve anything (levels and coming down to them and such), but then again, if this guy thinks he's better than everyone else and practically lives outside reality in his own little mind-kingdom of natural immunity to the pain of others, then maybe it's time to storm the castle.

My other suggestion is to go around to all the people he belittles and picks on, and get them all to sign a petition. The aim of the petition can be for him to get suspended, transferred, expelled, or really just anything. Gather all the signatures and present them to the principal. If you're going to do then, then what you absolutely must do more than anything is: while you're presenting it to the principal, simultaneously give a copy of the petition to someone in the administration, above the principal that is. That way, if the principal doesn't act, orders from on high might pervail in the end.

Good luck, dude, and if fists do enter the equation, give him one for me.
this, THIS, THIS, THIS!!!! you hit the nail on the head my friend. Principles usually dont do anything about these types of situations (know that personally), but who does the principle fear? why the superintendent, who does the superintendent fear? The school board. And please, dont do anything violent, if ive learned something these past few years that nothing is more satisfying than using your wit and intelligence to bring an enemy down.....just think about that. Good Luck.

If you've got the resources, then gather evidence and bide your time. Video cameras - maybe hidden ones - record him when he's belittling people, audio recordings, maybe even photographs. Wait until you have enough evidence that dismissal is not even a possibility. Gather up school/district rules regarding the behavior.

Call a meeting with the principal, his parents, your parents, maybe some teachers, and crush him. This is where the evidence comes in. Be sure to have it organized properly so that anything he says - anything - will just dig him deeper. Read to the principal exactly what the school rules say about what to do with someone who acts as such, and insist that this punishment is enacted immediately.

If you don't have the time or patience for that, then I wholeheartedly agree with those suggesting to just confront the kid yourself, either physically or psychologically.

I'm pretty sure media outlets can't do this exactly for that reason.
