My mother was going to name me Prudence. I'm not kidding. She was really going to name me that. She wanted to call me Pru for short.

Thank god she settled for Megan.

Pru doesn't sound like a bad name, I think that's a pretty normal name for a girl, right? And prudence is considered on of the four cardinal virtues, i forget what the others are, must look this up.

I have never met anyone named Prudence. Ever.

Anyway, oddly enough, I was called a prude (among other things) all throughout high school. Though the name fits me, the relentless taunting has made me completely biased against it.

Prudence was the name of the original oldest sister on Charmed~ it did grow on me after a while, but I don't think I could subject my kids to it.

it was a tie actually, i was going to be called Harry or Leon if i was a boy or Cristiene if i was a girl, my name however ended up being Rhys (the Welsh spelling and mono-sex version of all the different spellings of my name)

My dad wanted to call me Ramsay (it's Scottish) after his favourite uncle. However my grandfather had recently died and so my mum talked my dad into naming me after him, David. Ramsay is my middle name.

My parents thought of Thor for a while.

my middle name is Thor and some ppl call me it although my usual nickname is Thermo and my real name is Max. All of which I am happy with.

My parents settled on Zoe for a girl's name and stuck with it. I think they picked it based on a character on Law & Order.

If I had been born a boy, however, there was some drama. My parents wanted to name hypothetical-boy-me Zachary, but my uncle and aunt named their second son (probably a few months older than me) Zachary.

Good thing I came out a girl.
