My name was always going to be Jamie. It didn't matter if I was born a boy or girl, my name will be and is Jamie.

I was supposed to be Daniel. Well, Jared Daniel. My mom just liked the name Daniel, but I needed a first name that started with a j because my Dad's family has been doing that with all their sons for something like five generation. So Daniel was supposed to be a middle name and everyone would call me by that. Except then my great uncle Al dies about a month before I am born and his only daughter is past her prime child-bearing years and is unable to produce a child to continue his name. So my mom named me after him because he was apparently a great part of my mom's family. So I got named Jared Alexander. I don't quite remember why Jared other than it was one of the few j names family tradition would still allow.
