The question you should be asking is "Can I picture Affleck as Batman?".

For me it is no. Jon Hamm or Brolin would have been better for an older Batman, I think.

Anybody else getting deja vu? Peter Capaldi ringing any bells?

Oh well. I've just been loving the sheer arrogance of the people who are claiming he can't play Batman with their only argument being that he didn't play Daredevil well. Every actor has their occasional bad performance, and Ben Affleck must have some talent if he won an Oscar for directing and starring in Argo last year.

Ben Affleck: Good enough for the Oscars but not good enough for Comic Book fans. Of course having Batman leap from the very pages of the comics and write his own dialogue probably wouldn't be good enough for comic book fans, they'd call him 'laughably grim' and bad at reading his serious sounding lines.

Also, I actually liked Daredevil. I don't get why people hate on that either.

I'm willing to give Ben the benefit of the doubt until I at the VERY least see a pic of him in costume. Frankly I never liked Christian Bale that much as Batman. He really never figured out a good Batman voice.

I'm one of the only people that actually liked the Daredevil movie. It's a far cry from great cinema, even from a great superhero movie but it was a fun (if kinda silly) movie. I've heard the director's cut is better but I haven't gotten to see it yet.

I'm just pissed because they said they were looking for an actor to portray an older Batman.

Got me hyped up thinking we'd get a film like The Dark Knight Returns or something.

I can see Ben Affleck pulling off Bruce Wayne. I think when he plays Batman though they need to have a mask go in front of his mouth that Batman uses to change his voice and have Kevin Conroy do the voice of Batman.

Michael Keaton to be Batman: Fans rage ceaselessly until film is released, are full of praise after.

Heath Ledger to be Joker: Fans snark endlessly until film is released, Joker is heralded as the best thing ever.

Anne Hathaway to be Catwoman: Fans whinge that there's no way she can pull it off until film is released, fans immediately stop whinging.

Since I'm decent at seeing patterns, I predict that Ben Affleck will do fine.
I don't particularly care for Keaton as Batman. I absolutely loved the idea of Heath as the Joker as I was a fan of his from the word go. I hated the casting of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman and having seen it I still do.

Does that make my argument valid? Sweet!

I don't like this casting choice. Nothing to do with Daredevil (I was too busy making out in the back to actually watch it). I dislike it because I can't take him seriously. Yes, he's had dramatic roles but I haven't gotten around to watching those yet (my opinion may change if I ever get around to it). I still don't see Ben as a leading man, he's in Damon's shadow as far as I'm concerned (Damon happens to be my favorite actor). To be honest, I think Ben could pull of Bruce Wayne marvelously, but the movie isn't about Bruce Wayne.

I don't like the choice but I'm not going to condemn it, I'll just watch it and see how it goes. If it turns out great then great, if it turns out shitty then it turns out shitty.

Are my comments about Ben entirely petty and worthless? Absolutely.

We already knew Heath Ledger was a good actor before Dark Knight. He had Monster's Ball, Brokeback Mountain, Brothers Grimm, Casanova. Ben Affleck... is OK as a straight leading man. Batman though? Again, I don't hate the guy, I think he's a [merely OK] actor. I just have trouble seeing him as anyone other than himself.

But.............something similar happened in an old movie.....ah yeah:

The problem is that you would have to at least work to sink your teeth into the wall of masculinity that is Bale SweetShark, Ben on the other hand is like a moldy peach that falls apart in your hands [citation needed].

One might argue that no one saw how Keaton could have pulled off Batman but did so anyways, however he was always a fairly versatile actor in his prime [citation overload!!!].

Ultimately Keaton was the best Batman ever. [WARNING!---Fanboy Bullshit Detected///---WARNING!]

Yeah, I will wait and see how he does, might even skip a few previews given that they either contain spoilers or try to appeal to the wrong audience before giving my final judgement.

how many award winning actors do comic book movies? Isn't that a little strange?
A lot actually. Want a list?

Tommy Lee Jones - Captain America

Anthony Hopkins - Thor

Mickey Rourke - Iron Man 2

Samuel L. Jackson - All the Marvel movies

Nick Nolte - The Hulk

Sam Elliott - The Hulk

Michael Caine - Batman trilogy

Morgan Freeman - Batman trilogy

Jeff Bridges - Iron Man

Liam Neeson - Batman Begins

Ian McKellen - X-men movies

Patrick Stewart - X-men movies

Hugh Jackman - X-men movies

And seriously, these are just the newer movies I'm talking about. There's been tons of amazing actors who have been in superhero movies.

Wow i can't beleive you gave me such an easy lay up ^^.

I mean it's not like George clooney ever won an award. ^ ~.

Look there's alot things that can go wrong in a movie (I thought clooney would be a good bat man)
but this is swimming up hill.

You wanna act reacting poorly you people would riot if they booked Depp, and Despite current events he can act circles around Afflack.
Fair point, but even so, it's worth remembering that Clooney hated Batman & Robin from the start. So the only real indication of whether he'll be any good in the role is if Ben Affleck starts taking potshots at Zack Snyder after he reads the script.

God damn comic book nerds, just wait and see, man.
Remember that guy in the last three batman films? Remember people didn't want him nor Christopher Nolan to have anything to do with batman?

Don't complain until there is something to complain about, there are more important things in life to get worked up on then a goddamn comic book film!

Sorry for the harsh tone, but come on, what are we, spoiled children?

"No I didn't want that toy, I wanted to other one, waaaaa!"

You know?

I don't get all the Ben Affleck is Batman hate either. I mean, he already played a VERY similar character in Daredevil (a MASSIVELY underrated movie BTW) and pretty well I might add. So Affleck would probably do fairly well, maybe not the BEST guy they could have possibly done, but he's definitely not one of the worst. Of course, as has already been mentioned the real issue is that the fans seem to instantly cry out "Worst. Actor. Choice. EVER." from the get go any new guy who gets cast as Batman or Joker (in fact, Batman characters in general tend to be hit with this) no matter who it is because it wasn't the guy it was last time, even though they whined just as much if not more about THAT guy only to praise them as the BEST later on.
