Ummm, Probably Huck Finn. In all honesty, I felt that it really deserved the praise it earned as an American Classic and I quite enjoyed it.
I disagree with this. Tom Sawyer I didn't mind, but Huck Finn bored me to tears. Part of it though, was I was reading it in a short time frame and so I was rushed.
Eh, differences are what make us unique. I haven't read Tom Sawyer yet though, although I am willing to look for a copy if I can.
Like I said, I was rushed reading it, and it was around Christmas time so there were a lot of distractions. I might give it another read just so I can give it a proper run through.
Tom Sawyer had a lot more of nothin'. Think of it like Seinfeld compared to... I dunno, Samurai Champloo or something of that sort.

Great expectations was most likely my favorite read in high school, if for no other reason than its deadpan honesty about the behavior of the average woman. The worst and most intolerable was hands down siddhartha. Nothing like trying to force multiculturalism down students throats with one of the most dull works ever written. Best book read for fun in my school years was "Candy" by Terry Southern. "Give me your warmth! Your true warmth!"... LoL!

I read my favorite book of all time in high school, that being "To Kill A Mockingbird". It's also where I was made to read "Ender's Game". Love that book too.

Starship Troopers. I loved that years' summer reading. That book changed my political views.

Hmmm, I have to say, my guilty pleasure would have to be Betrayal, by Harold Pinter.

So far: To Kill a Mockingbird and Life of Pi were my favorites, although by a stroke of luck, I've been assigned The Right Stuff this summer, I am actually looking forwards to that one...

My highschool favorites have all been named already. So, I'm gonna mix it up a bit and say that "Wonderful Life" by Stephen Jay Gould was my favorite read from college. A lot of how I view the world now can be traced back to this book.

Hamlet, Merchant of Venice, Macbeth, 1984, Animal Farm, Of Mice and Men, Huck Finn, Brave New World, 5th Business (limited mainly to Canada). My school made us read a lot, although only 30% of it was decent.

Lord Of the Flies, One Flew over the Cuckoo's nest, Catcher in the Rye, and a Clockwork Orange. All are hold a place in my heart because I learned them through the best English teacher I will ever have, except catcher. Thank God that book is simple enough to enjoy on your own ( the teacher that taught it was a wakko).
