Mount&Blade is the hands-down winner. Its more than just mashing 1 or 2 buttons or spamming a combo. You'd have to see it to know what I am talking about but once you see it you will agree.
Hehe yeah man, definatly. Combat is actually fun in that =Ddemoman_chaos said:Mount&Blade is the hands-down winner. Its more than just mashing 1 or 2 buttons or spamming a combo. You'd have to see it to know what I am talking about but once you see it you will agree.
Yes, it shall.Hazy said:God of War's combat system is undeniably fluid and easy to use.
It shalt be nominated!
For me it's got to be Tekken. So simple it's brilliant and when realised it makes all moves in a character's set intuitive.sturryz said:What do you feel is the best combat system in any game?
So is all of that genre, it has to be otherwise the game wouldn't work. From DMC to bayonetta to Dante's inferno, there all the same combat system.Hazy said:God of War's combat system is undeniably fluid and easy to use.

You would just have to keep in mind that you want the player to have fun, not be frustrated by enemies blocking or dodging every attack.poiumty said:for god's sake, enemies shouldn't be able to take 20 slashes straight through their bodies, it makes it look like you've got a pipe instead of a giant sword. I'd like to see a system in which enemies are really hard to hit as they dodge/parry your blows a lot, but once you hit them, you chop them in freakin' half.
Thats exactly how the fighting is in the Jedi Knight series. Some of the animations look exactly the same.TheNarrator said:Honestly, there is no doubt to it that Mount&Blade: Warband has the best melee combat system there is, at least for multiplayer. Single player too, actually, but that's just my opinion, I can understand it that some find it a bit unspectacular, or that some find it annoying that the protagonist is not stronger in stats or equipment than any other soldier. For multiplayer, it's more or less a fact. Unfortunately, I cannot deny I am a terrible fanboy.
The following video is from a rather early beta version, but it showcases the combat very well.
