A games store couldn't compete with local mall and had to close. They had collector's editions of Neverwinter Nights and Warcraft 3, boxed sets were $20 apiece. I know they had to cost way more than that normally.

Other than that, my friend had two(?!) subscriptions to Nintendo Power back in the day, so he gave me one of the two copies he had of Dragon Warrior, just cuz. Man, I love me that game.

Years back, when I got one of my first video cards, it came with a free game called "Deus Ex." Couldn't hurt to try it out, I thought to myself :) What an excellent game.

More recently, I purchased a video card and got a free copy of "Just Cause 2". A little repetitive at times, but still a lot of fun :)

Got Guild Wars and all of its expansions for $15. Bargain bin MMO with no monthly fee that doesn't require me to play well with others? Yes, thank you.

Also, to jump on a bandwagon, Oblivion GOTY for $20.

The Orange Box - Half Life 2, HL2: Episode 1, HL2: Episode 2, Portal, Team Fortress 2.

$30 AUD.

Bear in mind that I didn't own HL2 or Ep1 before buying it. So 30 dollars got me two single player games that instantly became all-time favourites and a multiplayer game that I still play to this day.

I'd call that a good deal.

Managed to pick up Bayonetta for like, somewhere around $12 USD, not too long after it came out either. Managed to get quite a lot of interesting game for that amount of cash.

Still pretty happy about that even if I haven't even picked the game up since beating it.

I got The Orange Box for about $12 on eBay, brand new for the PC, and I've played those games for hundreds of hours, and still play TF2 almost daily.

I got Portal for free.
Beat that.
Try mine, I got a $200 controller for $40, not free, but still, Portal doesn't need this to play:

When I worked at Gamestop, I regularly bought games from costumers dirt-cheap. As in, .99C cheap. They came in to sell a game, we'd offer a pile of ash for it, and if the customer still wanted to sell it, well, I'd front the money myself, and keep it.

.
Thought I was the only one who did that. >.>

It the only reason I gotten Jak 3 again.

Anyway, best deal? Mass effect 2 for free buying Dragon Age 2.

Also, Demon souls and DMC3:SE for 17 dollars and 8:99

Most probably the Orange Box. Bought it at the release for 40? and got four awesome SP games and TF2 which I still play after having invested around 2000h in it already.

On steam I once saw half life 1 for 25 cents. I didn't but it for some reason though. Later, I bought half life 1 for $5, its usuall price on steam.(atleast that's what I think it was $5)
