Just before the sequal was announced and the price shot back up into the 20s I nabbed the first Mass Effect for $8. Afro Samurai on sale for $5 wasn't bad either. And when Steam was launched for Macs--free Portal giveaway!

Easily the orange box. Another would be getting Kotor on steam for $10. Thats the base price, but when you consider I have gotten 200 hours out of it, that evens things out a bit.

I spent £100 on a replica of a freddy glove. Made of metal. Awesome. Most would see that as a shit waste of money. But we love what we love.
Is it just a replica or is it high end metal that could actually be used (for more benevolent purposes, of course)? If it's the latter I'd be tempted to buy that too, I collect blades.
High end metal which was welded together by hand. It is as real as real can be,. I have fun busting beer cans with it. hee hee. I bought it about 10 years ago.
That's awesome, I've only ever seen shitty replicas of that glove.

I got a launch copy gta San Andreas (not that hot coffee was that interesting) for $7.
After I was done with my first playthrough (a couple of months later) I kind of felt bad for paying so little for so much game.
I didn't feel quite so bad after buying gta4 at launch.

I got the Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith game for a mere $5. It's not good, but it's a lot of fun.

Also, I got a DS system and Dragon Quest IX for a mere $40. Best deal ever, in my opinion.

Best deal ever would have to be Zelda: Ocarina of time for 15 "gulden"(the previous dutch currency) which would be about 6 us dollars i guess. The best game ever made (in my humble opinion) for just 6 dollars, now that is a good deal.

I signed up for and downloaded Steam so I could get Portal for free, That was the best deal hands down. But as for paying I got Half Life 2 for 10 dollars about a year or so before the announcement/release of the Orange box. I got an additional copy of Halo Reach for free after signing up and qualifying to beta test a dashboard update. Then I got Saints Row 2 for 18 dollars while I was down in Mississippi visiting family

It might have been when I purchased Front Mission 3 for $5 at a used bookstore then turned around and sold it online for about $45 (this is before the PS3 let alone the PSN even existed) but winning Yakuza 4 from Destructoid comes close. One can't beat free...except with profit!

Brand new copy of ICO for $4.99 out of a bargain bin. Suckers. *queue evil laugh and run*
I was going to say, I got a French-Canadian version in a Wal-Mart near Seattle for $5. Probably my best buy, or Oblivion/Bioshock for $10 used.

Getting the Orange Box for forty dollars. Sure it's not as cheap as some other Escapees have gotten it but still, for all those games of such a high caliber it was worth it.

Earth Defense Force for twenty bucks was also a great deal. Sure it's the video game equivalent of a b-movie but it's still fun as all hell once in a blue moon.
