Dead Space [http://www.bloodygoodhorror.com/bgh/files/covers/dead_space_cover.jpg] is my favourite cover art in recent years. Simplistic yet creepy, and told me enough without spoiling too much.
Valkyria Chronicles' [http://ps3life.nl/data/upload/1-B0f5Q_-e1217519221.jpg] cover is similar to Dead Space's in that it shows enough without giving away too much, and I like the art style of it too.
Resistance 2's [http://gamextract.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/resistance-2-ce.jpg] UK cover is infinitely better than it's US counterpart [http://i38.tinypic.com/kdo9xx.jpg]. I like the reflection and the various details, like the DINER sign spelling DIE in the reflected side.
Far Cry 2's [http://www.techshout.com/images/far-cry-2-cover.jpg] cover is a suitable image for the game. A faceless man walking into the distance leaving a trail of bullets in his wake.
Grand Theft Auto IV's [http://globalnerdy.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/gta_iv_cover_art.jpg] cover is in keeping with it's predecessors' including putting a helicopter in the top left corner. Artistic and aesthetically pleasing.
Fallout 3's [http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/83/Fallout_3_cover_art.PNG] cover is simple like Dead Space's, but doesn't quite match the atmosphere. The reason it works so well is due to it's lack of clutter.
Haze [http://gaygamer.net/images/haze_confirmed_as_ps3_exclusiv/hazebox.jpg], while an average game had a pretty good cover that worked for the same reasons Fallout 3 did. Simple and effective.
Mass Effect's [http://www.threesixtylog.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/mass-effect-cover.jpg] cover reminds me of a film poster of sorts which is excellent. The ominous villain in the background, supporting characters at the sides and main hero front and centre. An excellent cover marred only by the default Commander Shepard being on there. My Shepard looked very different.
That'll do for now. I only meant to post Dead Space, then thought of a few more.
