It's a little juvenile but a game I own to this day, which I think is the best game still, is paper Mario: The thousand year door.

Half Life 2 without a doubt. Name any other game that can be beaten 7 times and still feel as incredibly breathtaking as the first time. (I don't have memory loss or problems or anything.)

Well there is no such thing as the greatest game but I reckon Ocarina of Time was something really special!

My favorite game of all time is Chrono Cross.

But Best game ever? Probably Super Mario 64, Mario World 2: Yoshi Island, and Resident Evil 4.

I can't pick one. All 3 of those are perfect to me.

The lad is right though, it's been done many a time.

I'm going to say Planescape: Torment(because I'm pretentious), no other game has ever come close to its depth of storytelling and character for me.

only thing that ruins it are idiots, and thats not the games fault. Lacks any real story line, but online versus mode is just pure comedy.

You sir are full of win I have put more hours into that game than other game on my Playstation including the Final Fantasy games; however the best game ever title belongs to Super Mario 64.
