Know what else was epic?

Your mum.

In bed.

Last n- LOL. I really can't go through with that joke. Hahah.

Seriously, though, Crackdown had some moments, and some seriously awesome shit, but there was Zero story, and you basically did the same tired "Kill Boss" missions over and over. To make it all worse, you had to do it 21 times, sets of seven split into 3! I mean, they weren't identical, but they were close enough that I couldn't believe I had played through all of that shit by the end of the game. >>;

Why thank you. My nerd dedication is high!

It was incredibly boring 80% of the time, but when you finally got to a huge, awesome firefight it almost made it worth it.

There were a lot of people going 'waaaaa it's too hard', 'waaaa the enemies are too accurate'... they were obviously trying to play it like COD4. It was vital to use stealth.
As much as I wanted to like and finish Far Cry 2 I never did. When I first heard about it, it sounded like it would tick all of my boxes. But it just had balance issues. You claim that the game was all about stealth and I agree that's what the developers were likely going for, but it was just executed poorly.

I love unforgiving stealth games, I love any game where if one guy sees you because you were too retarded to hide yourself then you get well deservedly gang raped by enemy reinforcements. But the enemies in that game were able to detect the player character beyond reasonable logic. My mates and I have an ongoing joke about poorly programmed games having NPC's who are part of a hive-mind. See, Oblivion, specifically attempting to assassinate someone in Anvil, in the middle of night while they sleep alone in their own house only to trigger the spider senses of an imperial palace guard 400 kilometers away who quickly arrives to apprehend you. Guh..
Agreed. The stealth was implemented rather badly in FC2.

As for Oblivion, the guard AI is famous for being simultaneously omniscient and retarded. That same guard who miraculously knows you have murdered someone alone in thier house will often fail to apprehend you until you wander up and happily start a chat with him.

Oblivion's AI is so bad sometimes you can only laugh...

Any MMORPG.

I've reached a certain point of maturity where I find achievement mechanics to be pointless, grinding power simply to grind more power is a hollow, hollow thing. Yet, I can't stop wanting to sample the genre because massively multiplayer has great potential for epic.

Halo pissed me off to no end, mostly because it was so damn repetitive and boring.
After finishing it, I felt no sense of accomplishment at all.

Kingdom Hearts, specifically Re:Chain of Memories. I actually enjoy the card system... most of the time.

You'd think getting my ass kicked thirteen consecutive times by the same villain due to not being able to remember which button does what would deter me, but no, I want to play the rest of the series. I think there's something in my vitamin water.

Though I admit I do probably hate Disney villains more than the heroes themselves now.

Devil May Cry 3 on the "Dante Must Die" setting.

God of War I & II on God Mode

Oh, and Ninja Gaiden. Those games mixed in with their hardest difficulty made them so frustratingly hard that I just had to continue with them.

I sucked, and i mean really sucked at Kingdom Hearts.
Couldn't get past the training at Olympus Colleseum.
Yet i tried continuously for 2 weeks, just so it wouldn't beat me.
In the end, my 10 year old brother did it first try.
A sad moment for me, none the less.

I remember playing Spy Hunter on the original Xbox. I never really liked it, but I didnt want the damn game to beat me!
I remember that game. I got stuck on the final level. I also felt compelled to finish Alone in the Dark (the new one). It was not fun.

I'm playing Super Chost and Goblins right now....

A. It's hard.
B. I've only reached level 3.
C. It would be so much better if I didn't get throwed 2 km away when I get hit.

Star Wars Obi-Wan, that game had some many flaws it was extremely hard because of it. I still played through to the end though because if any game was going to beat me, it sure as hell wasn't going to be this one.

Far Cry 2

I finished the damn thing, it was torturous.

It was bastard hard until about halfway through when you unlock the grenade launchers. Then the difficulty curve does a total 180 and you breeze through to the finale.

The endless travelling and respawning guardposts were just horrid all the way through though.

The game had some wonderful mechanics, and certainly looked pretty, but unfortunately its many flaws kept it from being as fun as it could have been.

I tried playing it but after dying for the 100th time trying to sneak into a house I quit and ran it back to the store I rented it from.

The biggest pet peeve though was if they try to make a game that realistic and have respawning guards they are going against what they are trying to make.

If someone has 10 guards and I kill 5 I want to seem like I killed 5 and there be 5 less guards that aren't repopulated by respawns.

Legendary

It can't be as bad as everyone says, it has such a neat premise!

... ok ... ok, maybe the story is bad but at least I get to kill legendary creatures!

... ok ... ok maybe they are few and far between but ... at least ... uh ... Screw you, I won't let this game beat me >.<

I would have to say the Darkness. I bought it during the summer of 2007 because I was desperate just for a game to play. So this seemed to be the only good choice, so I bought it for the full sale price and played it. I was really disappointed but damnit I just wanted to beat the game, eventually though, the game did grow on me somewhat.

And to think, on the back of the box they brag about the 'Advanced AI.' It's probably the main reason I hate Bethesda games.

I keep trying to play Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood on Very Hard, and I keep dying in the most infuriating ways. Like when I used the deadeye (sorry, 'concentration') mode and managed to line up five head-shots, and as soon as I started shooting, a stick of dynamite fell right at my feet and blew up. Or when a sharpshooter shot me through a tent about 300 yards away.
