Best game openings?

I liked the intros for the System Shock series
Heres the first intro
And heres the intro for System Shock 2 its very creepy.

Total Annihilation... That sent me all giddy when I watched it for the first time(I was about 10 I think). Having watched it not long ago it doesn't really stand up to the test of time :/

I agree, but to be more accurate:

Rise and shine, Mr Freeman, Rise and... Shine. Not that i wish to imply you have been sleeping on the job... all the effort in the world would have gone to waste until... well, let's just say that your ... time has come again. So wake up, Mr Freeman. Wake up and... smell the ashes.

I've never played either of these games. I've always heard that they were good though. Having watched these intro's I must now get hold of & play them.

I totally agree with Borderlands, Cage the Elephant are a great band.
Also I always loved the intro to Tales of Symphonia but that's because I am in love with Kosuke Fujishima and the original Japanese version had a really cool J-Rock song.

I would have to say the original Guild Wars: Prophecies opening. It was so idyllic, and yet the narrative managed to be so chilling.

For me I've always been a sucker for the Kingdom Hearts openings. That catchy bleeding j-pop gets me everytime.

Yes, that is indeed awesome, but for some reason, the Red Alert 2 version just seems cooler to me.

Yeah this is where Bioshock got its roots from, but it was really dumbed down. Good luck trying to run these games on a new PC its a hassle. BTW what is SNIP? I'm still new to the internet.

I liked Mass Effect...

The music was really inspiring, yet chilling at the same time. And seeing the Normandy (Which I've realised is very similar to Concorde) Fly past jupiter is just... wow.

SNIP is just a way of keeping quoted messages shorter. That way you can be quoted without reposting the entire conversation. Just SNIP off the beginning

The kingdom hearts openings are nice in my opinion, and the tactics war of the lions (wow my past 3 posts have mentioned this game...) has a visually appealing intro to say the least
