Fallout 3 when you tune into galaxy news radio. Who knew that I would like those twenties songs more than most of today's songs. My favorite of the bunch is "Civilization". I even have them on my Zune, yeah I have Zune instead of an Ipod.

I'd have to say Assassin's Creed's scoring was done rather exceptionally, specifically the track "Access the Animus." I know I'm not the only one who deliberately got myself chased around by the guards just to hear the faster section of that song play. Jesper Kyd added an odd sort of reward for intentional bumbling there.

I'm sure I've said it about 3 times already on this forum, but Megaman 2 on the NES will always remain in my heart as having the best music ever.

Either the Guilty Gear or Baten Kaitos series, for me.

If I'm allowed to bring up a questionable game type, then I'll add Tsukihime and Fate/Stay Night for sheer atmosphere.

Was wondering if you'd mention that. *glances at your avatar*

But Fate had some really great music. Especially the music that plays during ending scenes--that brings a tear to my eye just about every time. Especially when the beat starts playing underneath the strings. What was the track called again?

"<url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7GgDWCc_8A&feature=PlayList&p=746EB55527A6A284&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=25>Changing Seasons." I always liked the opening riff of that one more than the rest of the song. The few strings in the beginning always made me think "well, that story is over, but it, and all the others, still go on." And for some reason, it reminds me of cherry blossoms, so it really fit the two Heaven's Feel endings well.

I think my favorite track is "<url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNvsGRzw-ys&feature=related>Light and Darkness." The impact is kinda lost if you listen to it straight, when it plays the whole song, but for that scene, it was unbelievably awesome.

As a side note...hey, someone recognized Ciel! <url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7D0P9fUsKfE>Happy days! Oh wait, it's <url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qus3Bn3ppP8&feature=related>nighttime right now...

Actually, when I noticed that your link had a playlist on the side, I took a look through it and found the song I meant! It was New Dawn, [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fPEeaBhZoc&feature=PlayList&p=746EB55527A6A284&index=26] apparently.

But yeah, Type-Moon games have some good mood-setting music. Which is the entire point of BGM, so I'd say they're exemplary for their kind!

(And I would be remiss if I didn't recognize a Type-Moon character. My first proper Internet expedition was on the Beast's Lair [http://nrvnqsr.proboards.com/index.cgi?] boards.)

not a soundtrack but Lazlow's chatting on Chatterbox FM from GTA3,
"we are Commuters Raging Against Phones!"
"crap?"
"YES!"

The Stryder battle at the end of episode two, EPIC music.

Oh, that one! Sorry, thought you meant the ending credits. Yeah, I like that one, too (especially since it helped ease some of the sting at the end of Fate).

Yep, some great ones. And apparently, judging by the TV Tropes page, all I have to do to seriously disturb people who annoy me is to play <url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBwP_9xGzU0>this.

Never went on there, myself, though I'm endlessly grateful for the Kagetsu Tohya translation.

Shadow of the Colossus always blasts me away.

Also great: Xenogears, Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy VI-VIII, almost everything by Jasper Kyd (escpecially 'Vegas' from Hitman - BM and 'Jerusalem' from Assassins Creed)and the Thief series (in an experimental kind of way)

My favourite original soundtrack is probably the Halo series.
Licenced sountrack, Fallout 3, nothing like listening to "Maybe" by The inkspots while wandering the wasteland alone.

The Bioshock soundtrack still sends shivers up and down my spine if I hear it... It set the atmosphere perfectly for the game.

Arcanum had beautiful, beautiful music.

And the House of the Dead: Overkill Soundtrack wins the Sledgehammer Award for Subtilty. Seriously tho, that game had a bunch of groovesome rockin' tunes.
