Mount & Blade is a fairly successful game by indie terms, but its still all too often overlooked for what I think is just a brilliant little series.

Arx Fatalis is another that all too often gets overlooked despite being a damned solid rpg experience and an overall fun game. Company went on to make Dark Messiah of Might and Magic before being bought up by Bethesda, go figure. What they might be working on now I don't know, but I'd love an Arx Fatalis 2.

"The Warriors" for the PS2, an early Rockstar game about gang fist fights.

Great game, great developer and it was based on a great movie...

Still in my top 3 games ever... probably still my all-time favourite now that I think about it...
This.
Very good movie and a very good game.

The World Ends With You, this might be my favorite game this generation and is definitely my favorite DS game. Kind of surprised I'm the first to mention it.

Colony Wars: Vengeance for PS1. It would probably be considered pretty boring with today's standards, but back in the day I thought that game was awesome! Also, Fur Fighters for Sega Dreamcast. That was a fun game! There are plenty of others too, but I can't think of them at the moment.

Carnage Heart for the psx. Free Internet cookie to anyone who fondly remembers this game.
UGH.... I remember that. It was basically Armored Core but you just piddled around while the computer had all the fun and glory. PASS

But anyway mine would be Legend of Mana for the playstation. Its a JRPG that felt like a western RPG. Also every single background looked (im pretty sure they were) hand-painted.

Also Romance of the Three Kingdoms 10 for strategy game.
Hah. I kinda liked it. I dug how you programmed the mech instead of just customized it's appearance. Pretty innovative stuff for it's time.

Incredibly obtuse for most people though.
Yes instead of just customizing its appearance-which dictates how much general ability to kill things and not die while killing said things you also get to customize its programming-which is how horrible your death machine is at using its tools of destruction because you clearly didnt put a cockpit in the "appearance" budget ;)
