I have some extra money and i want a new game so i was wondering what game you thought was the best so far this year.

I would have recommend Marvel vs. Capcom 3 if you were into fighting games, but now just wait for Ultimate.
Shadows of the Damned is a ton of fun, though a little short. Dead Space 2 has probably taken up more time for me this year than any other game (sans MvC3).
I say go with Dead Space 2 (or 1 if you haven't played it). Good story with absolutely terrific gameplay. Can't go wrong (unless you are easily spooked by things that go "boo").

Definitely Portal 2. The first one was merely OK, very overrated, but this one blew my mind. At the risk of destroying my own credibility, it's pretty much perfect in every way.
Portal 2, followed closely by Dead Space 2. I absolutely loved every minute of both of those games. 
Portal 2 And Catherine.
I might get some hate for saying Catherine , but it truly is ( imo ) a Gem and a Breath of fresh air in the gaming industry atm. I think i will become a cult classic ( unless a or several sequels will come out ) but only time will tell.

Catherine, Portal 2, Shadows of the Damned are my three console GOTYs.
If you're feeling daring, play Catherine. It's a tough puzzler that rewards you with one of the most mature storylines in games. Not at all perverted like the initial marketing and the haters would have you believe.
If you're feeling like an immature unpretentious shooter, play Shadows. No-nonsense 3rd person shooter that's rough around the edges with bugs but has a lot of heart, style, and funny dick jokes if you can stomach them. Very rewarding game.
If you're feeling safe, Portal 2. Do I even need to explain Portal? Let's face it, no one hates Portal, so if you're a milquetoast who doesn't wanna take a chance, do this.

So far my favourite game released this year is probably The Witcher 2. It's rare in recent years that I'll immediately start another playthrough right after finishing my first one. In fact I think the last game I did that with was Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines.
DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS MAN! Seriously I just bought shadows of the damned yesterday, and traded it in today. I expected to get a game, as fun as Resident Evil 4 with the personality and style of Killer 7. Instead I got a gerneric under polished 3rd person shooter, with humour that is on par with Duke Nukem.Just_A_Glitch said:
