I just bought Orange Box today, paid a measly $20 for it and it is no doubt the best twenty dollars I have spent. What is the best gaming purchase you have ever made? A game that you paid very little for and was fantastic? A game you dont think you will ever stop playing?

(On a side note, please go out and get Orange Box, a fantastic bunch of games for only $20!)
Wow, I was coming in here to say how the Orange Box was the best $50 I've spent on gaming.
To be perfectly honest, I was planning on spending the full $50, I went down to EB Games(Gamestop in Canada) and got a brand new copy for only $20. I was confused but hey, I wasn't complaining.

Bought Command & Conquar collectors edition box set from a friend for 30$ couple years ago and loved all games but Generals over all, that game is just perfect to me.

Same! my eyes nearly exploded when I spotted that price online.

But I have to pick Oblivion as the greatest choice. Just so much time spent...

On a console, FF: Crisis Core (if you can call the PSP a console... "handheld" I guess?). On the PC (which I don't normally use), Sims 2.

Sims 2, when it was newly released, for $20, because it was mislabeled as an expansion pack at the local Wal-Mart.

Also, Metroid Zero Mission and Metroid Fusion for $15 together was pretty sweet, but they were second-hand and without cases, so I'm sure anyone could find them for that price or better. However, I got the first two Ace Attorney games for $25 after they were already out of print, complete with cases and booklets (although my copy of the second game was Japanese, but the Japanese versions of the first three games have the English translation on them).

I borrowed the Orange box for free. My friend didn't have Live so he couldn't play TF2. You can think of it as a purchase since I let him borrow Mirrors Edge,Mass effect and Gta 4

This. Pure and simple.
Don't know how many hours i've wasted on TF2..
You can look it up on steam :)

As for me it would have to be a toss up between the Warcraft 3 battlechest (DotA) and The Orange Box. Both about 20$ and I've spent way more time playing these two then any other game I've ever owned or payed 60$+ for.

Fallout 1, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics for $10.
Sold Tactics for $20 and have spent 300 hours on Fallout 1 alone. Easily the best game buy I have ever made.

Mount and Blade, it was only 5 bucks on steam and its a game basically no one has heard of, or will hear of, but god damn is it fun. I can't wait until the multi-player expansion, that shit is gonna be bananas.
This.

Mount and Blade was phenomenal. I've never been so surprised by an indie game, ever. It certainly needs more polish, and more content, but the game is still incredible.

Starcraft for about 20 buck, and Super Street fighter 2 turbo for 12. Awesome games with endless replay value.
