First your icon is awesome. I loved that game.

Second. A funny glitch I really enjoyed was in a FPS (I believe it was Halo 2) which allowed me to run infinitely on a plane of nothing. I don't know why but I could do it forever.

I remember my first time ever playing COD:WaW. I was playing co-op at a friends house and jumped on a rock in the first level and got stuck so I had to grenade myself to get free.

Hmm to name a few:

Halo 2, you can crush people into the floor and while they fall through the sky (under the map) they will hit what seems to be an invisible box, then keep falling. If they hit this box, look up, there will be a huge body in the sky.

Duplicating 5000 apples at once in Oblivion inside the players waterfront house. If you manage to escape, you can never enter again or your xbox will crash.

On Pariah (I guess it works on other games) there was some tunnel which was round, yet the invisible walls meant you could only walk down it as if it was a square tunnel if you know what I mean, like ( [_] ) there was an enemy in the tunnel and I shot him square in the head with the shotgun, and his face hit the invisible wall (the square brackets) and it stretched the entire length and height of the tunnel. Yeah, weird.

On Morrowwind, if you made a spell which boosted your stats for 1 second, such as 'raise speed 100 points 1 sec on self' but combined it with 'soultrap on target for 1 sec', when cast it would permanently raise your speed by 100. When you have more than 5000 speed, if you entered the Mages Guild and ran down the ramp, you would run through the wall and into the sky.

Technically this isn't a glitch, just a great use of in-game mechanics. On halo 3 using Forge, fill an Elephant with fusion coils and plasma thingies, and change the options on them to 'maximum 30 minimum 29' so when they all explode, they will get instantly replaces, which causes a continuous explosion. This sends the Elephant flying around the map 200 feet in the air.

My vote would go to the Black Hole Glitch in Super Smash Bros. Melee.
So awesome it makes your Gamecube freeze.
I'm still pissed that they took that out of the PAL version. I want my Gamecube to freeze too!

Err... they didn't take it out. I can do it on my PAL version.
It's Samus' extended grapple that they took out, not the Black Hole Glitch.

In Titan Quest, you can launch weak enemies over cave walls into oblivion. Very satisfying.

I love the glitches that allow you to do the ClimbEverything stuff in all the Halo games.

That means glitching out of the map and wandering on top of it.

Apparently on CoD4 there's a glitch where you get stuck in Last Stand and can't take damage. I haven't done it but I've heard of it.
Also in Halo 2 at the bit where you're moving through the town with Jackal snipers everywhere.
I was doing it on Legendary, ran out into the open and took 3 headshots at once. My body instantly fell to the ground, fidgeted around for a few seconds, and then randomly catapulted itself into the air about 300 odd feet.
I was giggling for a while but could never get it to happen again.

Hurray for MISSINGNO!
There's actually about 104 of those, ya know. I learned the exact logic behind it a while back. Turns out that the way the old Game Boy games memory works means that there were 255 slots for Pokémon in the original Red and Blue games. Because there weren't that many, the rest were filled with "Missing Number", or MISSINGNO for short. The likeliness of encountering them is set to 0 for the player though, in order to avoid complications. However, in that one area in Cinnibar Island, there is no set limits on what you encounter, other than what you, as a player encounter.
However, when you fly to Cinnibar Island after watching the Old Man catch a Pokémon, the game still has the player set as Old Man. Now, Old Man doesn't have any limits on what he can encounter. Hence, MISSINGNO appears! Of course, there's no actual solid data for MISSINGO, so instead of crashing, the game panics, and draws data from anywhere in order to form an image. Because the game holds all its image data in one folder, the resulting image became, usually, a mess of pixels. Pokémon Stadium, however, decided to show it as one of those Substitute dolls.
That was very interesting. I'm amazed the game didn't crash and instead hastily tried to draw something in order to make up for it. That little fact was cool in itself.
Thanks, I found it interesting to learn myself. It's truly a testament to the game's robust nature that it could pull an image out of its arse instead of dying on us, instead giving us hundreds of combinations based on pretty much anything.
I think there was more to precisely which MISSINGNO you could pull out, based on username and such, but I'd need to check.

Missingno is classic, and extremely abusive. Does anyone not know Missingno?
