In Diablo (the original); the glitch that allowed you to duplicate items very easily.

Basically an infinite money thing in single player, although, if you got an amazing ring, you could 'dupe it and double the bonus.

I was playing fallout 3 and I could see a deathclaw in the distance. I started in the other direction, but figured what the hell and decided to go fight it. I was walking towards it and it started walking, but then it just flew up into the air....into the sun and never came back....i was so confused.

My vote would go to the Black Hole Glitch in Super Smash Bros. Melee.
So awesome it makes your Gamecube freeze.
I'm still pissed that they took that out of the PAL version. I want my Gamecube to freeze too!
Err... they didn't take it out. I can do it on my PAL version.
It's Samus' extended grapple that they took out, not the Black Hole Glitch.
Are you sure? Maybe they didn't take it out until the Platinum edition, because I'm pretty sure I can't do it with my copy.

I got this one too! Or something like it... my game glitched out and all the textures were flickering, then I looked up into the sky and there was a Deathclaw up there, stalking around. I tried to snipe it for a while but no dice.

Basically I figured he was waiting up in heaven for some innocents to die, just so he could kill them again.

Reckoning wasn't a glitch. It was just use of a game mechanic that nobody expected.
Like the mage that recently solo'd a wing of Naxx by spellstealing that damage absorbing buff. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_ggLGj37qI]

My favourite glitch is the Metroid Prime glitch where you can get the space jump boots within five minutes of landing on the planet. You're able to ignore the 'official' first location of the missiles you don't have to fight that large armored beetle for the morph ball, and if you didn't need the ball or bombs to kill that plant, everything up to that point could have been skipped.

I love the glitches that allow you to do the ClimbEverything stuff in all the Halo games.

That means glitching out of the map and wandering on top of it.
If you place the warthog on a bunch of nades, then throw a fresh nade onto them and IMMEDIATLY get into the warthog, it chews your armour but not your health, launching the warthog with master chief still hanging on the to gun like nothing happened, you could clear a level that way quite quickly.

Landing on top of a cruiser is epic too.

by Locking onto a target in another room, strafe jumping to where the boots are :D

God was in a good mood with you that day... did you free some slaves or find a home for some orphaned kids?

Flanker slant over the middle in just about every football game ever made, from Tecmo Bowl through Madden. NCAA Football 2004 in particular makes extensive use of the glitchy AI---you can get just about any quarterback the Heisman in that game.

i enjoyed the 777 glitch in Final fantasy (i think it was 7). what you did was if you got your self to 777 health your character will only do a crit of 777 dmg.

the only other glitch is in fallout 3. i was testing out my new stealth suit from operation anchorage when i saw a deathclaw(i was near deathclaw sanctuary) i began running as fast as i could. i turned around and began firing into it. i only had my shotty out so it was doing nothing. i went into the pip-boy to get my rpg and when i left the menu screen i see the deathclaw superjump into the sky.

i just stood there wondering what just happened. funniest part was when he came down.

Not a glitch, it's the Lucky 7 'ability' and if you end the fight with 777(7) health, it gets reduced to 1.

None of them got banned. The mage got a 24 hour ban and had all those items deleted and I don't remember if the paladins ever got any problems because of it.(it was years ago and multiple paladins killed bosses with reckoning before it got fixed)
