Hmm... I'm not sure... Several inventions have been glorified as 'The Best Invention Ever'.
I'm going to say... Language, or, more accurately, the ability to communicate. Without it, none of us would be here posting on The Escapist, the is a good chance various other Best-Inventions-Ever will have not been discovered as no-one could communicate with each other.
However, if you don;t think the ability to communicate is an invention, I'm going to say that The Internet is the best invention ever.

Don't make me laugh. Are you really that busy that you can't go over to Wiki and find the name of GM's founder William C. Durant. Also Ford realized what was going on with the economy back in 2005 fixed thier fuckups and ended up as being the only american automotive company that didn't need a Bailout and is still in control of thier own company. While Crysler is going to be owned by Fiat and GM is controled 60% by the US Treasury. About the Sony, Microsoft thing there is no way to compare the two seeing how Sony is an entertainment company, dealing Movies, Music, Televisions, Even thier own banks in japan, and I'm sure alot more.
