Iron Maiden in 200...8? I think. Twickenham rugby stadium, a good 30 or 40 thousand people.

Everyone singing in time to Fear of the Dark. Oh my god...it's fucking awesome.

I haven't been to many, but of the ones I've been to I'd say In Flames/KsE was by far the best. I mean, what beats two of your favourites bands in one concert? Not to mention Protest The Hero and Between The Buried And Me opened for them. :3

The Pixies, QOTSA, Iron Maiden, Foo Fighters, The Subways(oddly), Iggy and the Stooges, and Tim Minchin.

If I have to pick one, after literally a moment of consideration...Pixies wins!
Well, since you seem to share my taste in music disturbingly well.
I shall have to google these 'Pixies'.

OT: Well, back like 4 years ago, I saw Kings of Leon, back before Only By The Night was out (when they were cool).
They were pretty good.

But, I'm expecting them to be abolished from my head by the majesty of backstage passes to the Sydney show of Powderfinger's Sunsets tour, which I'll be accompanied by a girl I care a lot about, so it'll be that.

A million times, it'll be that

I saw Kings of Leon too, back in '05, liked them alot.

I'm amazed you like these bands but don't know the Pixies, how does that happen? Go buy "Surfa Rosa" and "Doolittle" and thank me later.

AC/DC: because angus young is a god and the front row was the most fun i've had in a crowd!

Aerosmith: Singing "I dont Want to miss a thing" with 20,000 people at night in the rain was a spine-tingling moment

Less than Jake: the guys just know how to have fun, and the pit is hilarious

Blue Man Group. I've actually seen them twice, once in London a few years ago and just recently, in Stockholm.

Sadly, even though it's 15 minutes away from here, I've never been to Metaltown, but maybe next year I will. And then I will probably go in and change this post. :D

I've seen Nine Inch Nails four times and they're the four best live shows I've seen. The best was probably the Wave Goodbye Tour in Summer 2009, at the O2 Arena in London. That was absolutely incredible.

Other than NIN, Christ I dunno. Maybe 65daysofstatic, or Hell is for Heroes. I've seen so many bands that I've forgotten something excellent I'm sure!

EDIT: Just remembered, I saw IAMX at a secret gig a couple of years back, that was absolutely amazing.

So what about you guys? Whats the greatest live show/performance youve been to?
The Beastie Boys. Saw them twice in the mid-90s, was unbelievable. I've never seen a band with that much energy before or since, and the breadth of musical styles covered surprised everyone in the room. I've also never seen someone dive off a 20-foot tall PA and land on a Rhodes keyboard and actually hit the right chord before, either.
