my favorite endings would have to be oldboy,

that ending was terrific. That whole movie was terrific, I loved it.

I would also mention
It's a very sad ending, but the whole last half hour was cut together so well. It's the kind of ending I mused on for days

Also,
If you haven't seen this film, see it now! I loved it. The way Ben Wade gets on the train to honour Dan, but then whistles to his horse...

I almost bawled when "You're gonna carry that weight" appeared after the credits.

I'm fond of how The Departed wraps up all loose ends, yet technically doesn't fix any of the problems.
At least not in the literal sense.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail!

(i keed, i keed)

For one of my favorite 'what the hell was that?' in a good way, I'd recommend Quiet Earth. Just love that ending.

Oh, and for best ways to end a movie with a beautifully delivered line, I would have to recommend Silence of the Lambs. "I'm having an old friend for dinner." Classic!
I'll second Monty Python and the holy grail. Fantastic way to end a film.

Also i'm going to throw Army of darkness in here as it has more than one ending!!! both of which are brilliant.

The Shawshank Redemtion had a perfect ending to a nearly perfect film.

Snatch also had a fantastic ending.

Honorable mention goes to the end of Cowboy Bebop, which sadly gets disqualified for not being a movie.

Oh god damn it! That's twice in one night!

I'll throw in Chronicles of Riddick, because I like that ending.

Compeltely agree with this, Can watch The Shawshank Redemption all the time and never get bored of it because the ending is so good.

Would also like to add Knowing and The Mist, both directors had guts to end the films like they did, very anti hollywood, made a change from everyone lived happily ever after.

The Shawshank Redemption.
It really ties everything up, leaves no loose ends, very satisfying.

I will one up you and say the ending to Infernal Affairs was even better because:

Evil triad person gets completely away with it, while the death of honorable undercover cop is actually shocking instead of perplexing.

Could not agree with you more. On top of a proper conclusion,
that final shot of both of them with "Where is My Mind?" playing leaves me with such a good feeling whenever I watch it.

Speaking of which, I was only thinking about the actual ending of the plot twist when I watched it earlier this week, and when the music kicked in and the camera switched to that single shot, I was so into it that I replyed the scene a few times just to get a fully satisfied feeling.

STARRING KEANU REEVES!

NOOOOOOOOOO!
Say what you like about Keanu Reeves, but I for one thought that the end of Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure (the first one) was a fun, light-hearted camp of silliness that I still like watching even though it's sooooo dated now.
I don't see why it's dated. I guess it looks kind of old, and the special effects don't look that great, but the concept is interesting, the acting is pretty good(considering the subject matter, at least), the in-your-face jokes all still work, and there is so much more subtle humor there than you'd expect from a movie like that.(For example, Sigmund Freud asking the police officer to "tell me about your mother.")

...

Yeah, OT: Pulp Fiction had one of my favorite ending scenes ever. Samuel L. Jackson is amazing at dialogue.

The Iron Giant. I cry every time.

The Big Lebowski has a very subtle message going on in it that is just great.

...I could go on like this for hours, but I won't.
