Lord of the Rings, Back to the Future, the Star Wars trilogy (the original one) and The Godfather trilogy. Epic.

EDIT: How could I forget Indiana Jones!

If you're planning a movie marathon, and you want to watch a trilogy, then you need to pick up the Cube movies.

3 series stand out for me: Lord of The Rings, The Matrix and Starship Troopers, ive always love the starship troopers films for some reason and the other 2 series speak for themselves.

Hellll yeaaaaaaaaaah.
That was what I was thinking the second I looked at this thread, Back to the Future FTW!

The terminator movies (as a trilogy) were pretty good and the original Star Wars were awesome.

The Matrix trilogy was fine until the third in my opinion.

I would put matrix but the last one let the side down.
I don't know about you, but I absolutely detested the second one.
Dear lord that was bad.

The third had giant robots. That's probably what made it less unbearable.
Both the second and the third were utter toss. Their existence only serves to urinate in the face of the brilliant original. I'm trying desperately to forget them, to preserve the memories I had when there was only one!

OT - LOTR (extended editions) and Star Wars (no, the prequels don't exist!), they do everything that a Trilogy should do.....and absolutely brilliantly too.

I would steer clear of Jurassic Park. I actually bought the trilogy on DVD a while ago and while the first one is a masterpiece (which is NOT in the IMDB Top 250) the second one is utter shite and a lot more crap than I remembered. The third one sucks too.

Die Hard is a solid trilogy, even a solid quadrilogy. Same goes for Alien that changes the pace in every movie which is kinda nice. Back To The Future trilogy is some of the greatest comedies ever.

Yeah, you got options alright.

Pfft. So did the last movies for the Jurassic Park and Back to the Future, I found them very hard to watch. Oh and Die Hard is a quadrilogy now.

OT, Indiana is one of the best trilogy's I've ever seen and if your including Die Hard you could probably consider Lethal Weapon, I preferred them more.

I'd say Lord of the Rings or Jurassic Park - probably leaning towards LOTR more since Jurassic Park 3 let the side down badly.

Also anyone who liked the Jurassic Park movies DEFINETLY read the book - it is alot better and the movie barely followed it.

Ive read the book, good read i just dont like how
John dies by the compies in the end[/end]

OT: id reccomend LOTR or the original starwars trilogy if it has to be 3 movies. But if you can go for more id say ALIENS.

You really can't go wrong with the Evil Dead trilogy, if for nothing else to see it go from semi serious horror to fun gory slap stick.

The Spider man trilogy isn't too bad either even the third one.

For something without Sam Raimi's sticky fingers all over it, the Austin powers movies would be a pretty good choice.
