Not the Evil Dead trilogy? I'm surprised.Furburt said:Highlander
NO NO NO
Anyway, my favourite movie trilogy is most likely the original Dead series by George Romero. Night of the Living Dead, Dawn Of The Dead, and Day Of The Dead.
Out of the ones you posted, Die Hard. It's the only one, apart from Star Wars, that's totally consistent throughout.
I'm one of the few people on this earth who think the third one was on par with the first, as it's my favourite. But I don't have the audacity to say it's the best one...Brotherofwill said:How can you not like the second? It's pretty much more of the same as the first, in my opinion equal in quality.Legion said:'Die Hard' I only thought the first was great.
Was just checking myself to see if it hadn't already been said yet and i'm surprised i had to scroll this far down!Hubilub said:
Alright, thanks for the advice. I'll have a look around. Surely I'll be able to pick up a box-set of the trilogy cheap from Amazon or something.Furburt said:Pretty much, yeah, but very well directed and with a main character you can empathize with.Mackheath said:What, messy brainless fun?Furburt said:Out of the ones you posted, Die Hard. Unlike Steven Seagal.
I was going to put Evil Dead, but I figure it's what I always say, so I'll leave it this time.Kiefer13 said:Not the Evil Dead trilogy? I'm surprised.
That said I've never actually seen George Romero's films, despite being a massive zombie fan. I really should.
And yes, watch them all. Night Of The Living Dead is old, but it's still a masterpiece, Day Of The Dead is very slow paced, but really good when you look back on it, and Dawn Of The Dead is beyond compare.
I might be one of the only person that thinks the 4th was better than the third. I agree, there's hardly any drop in quality, but I still like the fourth a lot.Furburt said:I actually think they're all just as good, there's no drop in quality.ChromeAlchemist said:I'm one of the few people on this earth who think the third one was on par with the first, as it's my favourite. Or do I?
Okay, they get steadily more over the top, and the 4th was a pile of shit, but the first three are all very good.
If you like Westerns- or just intelligent and well-filmed action movies, really- you should definitely check out the Dollars Trilogy. You know, the famous three Sergio Leone movies that turned Clint Eastwood into a big star? Anyway, they're absolutely great. You've probably heard of the last one, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, but the two other movies in the series- A Fistful of Dollars being the first one, For A Few Dollars More the second- are absolutely brilliant as well.Chameliondude said:Hey escapist, Planning a movie marathon.
So what is the best movie trilogy of all time?... if i have missed one, please include in the comments. I will try to put in poll.
Edit: WTF, deleted poll, now i cant put one in... oh well, just say your favourite i suppose
I cant decide between original star wars, Die Hard, Lord of the rings, Jurassic park or Terminator.
I would put matrix but the last one let the side down.
Righto. If I'm ever in town and see it when I have spare money on me, I'll undoubtedly buy it. But I'll probably just do what I usually do and wait until I've saved a bit of money and then order it along with a few other cheap games/books/films from Amazon in one go. Receiving big packages full of goodies in the mail makes me happy inside.Furburt said:I just thought it was very bland, myself. And as silly as it progressively got, the silliest thing in the originals was jumping onto a plane from a helicopter, which I suppose is perfectly doable with a lot of luck.Brotherofwill said:I might be one of the only person that thinks the 4th was better than the third. I'd say 1, 2, 4, 3.
But seriously, crashing a car into a helicopter? And living?
I got the first three in a collection for 15 euros. It's in most shops, it's got a dead hand on the front.Kiefer13 said:Alright, thanks for the advice. I'll have a look around. Surely I'll be able to pick up a box-set of the trilogy cheap from Amazon or something.
