The best musical I've ever seen was probably my school's production of Suessical though. My school is good at their plays.

Assassins, more specifically Assassins with Victor Garber as John Wilkes Booth.

Spamalot, mostly because I love Tim Curry and listening to him sing gives me the giggles. But all the versions are good, he's just my favorite Arthur.

Into the Woods is also worth a look.

The Producers, i've seen the movie and the play on broadway and it's halrious! i've your not familar with the story. It's about a has been producer and his acountant that realize you can make more money doing a flop than a hit (you don't have to pay back the investers with a flop). So they go about getting the worse screen play imaginable, the worst director in town, and go about producing "Spring Time for Hitler"! i couldn't stop laughing.

Yeah but i prefer to see the shows live if possible i think it just makes them more awesome. For example seeing war of the worlds live was just mindblowingly awesome

I went to go see The Wizard of Oz in 8th grade... the stage collapsed in the first act and we got to go home...

Watching Phantom of the Opera in Londons West End was one of the best experiences of my life! It was AMAZING!!!

I also watched Blood Brothers in the same trip and that was also amazing.. but PotO was certainly the best!

Jesus Christ Superstar! The '73 one, not the 2,000 one. Holy balls it is my favorite musical of all time, takes an interesting twist of showing Jesus' story from the viewpoint of Judas, and Carl Anderson (Who plays Judas) has some of the most fun-to-sing songs I've ever heard. Definitely something to look into.
I second this notion. I also liked [Pink Floyd's] The Wall.

I've only seen the live performance of WotW on DVD, but I do agree, it was epic and amazing.
