I love how people can just say "I went to two European countries, so I decided to settle somewhere in Europe" nowadays. One of the main things I just love is how Europe is generalised as more of a country than a collection of say, fifty countries with completely different climates, cultures and people. It really brings a smile to my face and a fist to my computer screen.

I would say Romania but any outsider would probably die a terrible death when they realize how fucked up this country is. As such, I'll just go with France.

The Easte...who the fuck am I kidding.

Though my country's technically a Scandinavian country, and all of the other Scandinavian countries, of which I've visited Sweden and Finland, I love. Sweden was brief, but I've gone to Finland multiple times, and even been there once for almost 2 months. The people seem so much nicer, and they have metro trains, and the city's bigger, with bigger buildings and more people in it etc, which is what I like.

Out of the whole Europe, I definitely want to go to England the most, though.

The political and social climate is best in Scandinavia, I suggest Norway in particular. Germany has a very stable and sound economy, with a rather secure labour market. Luxembourg has one of the highest salary levels in the world. Switzerland runs according to a unique democratic system where you have referendums in all important issues. The UK has the advantage of using the English language, which means you won't have to learn a new one. It depends on what you're looking for, really. Personally, I would definetly go with Norway. Seeing as you're from the US, however, it might feel a little too rural for you.

Places to avoid: The Balkans, Italy, the Baltic states and most of eastern Europe... And Spain, to some extent. Their economy is on the verge of collapse, and politically as well as economically they're still trying to make up for 35 years of fascist dictatorship.

The only downsides I can see with Norway are that it's very rural, and that they speak norwegian. It's a terribly ugly language. Other than that, they've got a very admirable political system, a very sound economy, a great social security net, very high salaries and overall a high quality of life.

Edit: As a general rule... The further north in Europe you go, the better it gets.

I would probably have suggested my own homeland (Iceland) since we have some of the best living standards in the world and really pretty woman if it weren't for the fact that as of lately our economy has gone to shit.
Agreed. Iceland would also have been a good choice, up until 2009. Economics aside, however, Iceland remains a very pleasant destination.

Denmark

A country that doesn't really seem to be involved in the shadier goings-on in the world.

Although, it did spawn the Mohammed cartoon. But I love it for that.
You could do better than Denmark, really. Their political climate right now is a little disconcerting. They're not involved in the shadier goings-on of the world because they have their own shady dealings to attend to. The police and government both are getting increasingly oppressive, and you really don't want to go there as an immigrant. Nationalist sentiment is strong there right now.
I agree that the current government is terrible, but the nationalist sentiment/racism is completely over-estimated. Because some people decide to make fun of muslims the same way that they already do with everyone else, doesn't make us all KKK members. It's also obvious that it's the places with the least immigrants that the racism stems from.

On topic: Hard to say, I like my little Denmark, and will most likely remain here, though I like most other countries here as well, for different reasons.

Pro's for Denmark
Stable, secure (low crime), high salaries, nice people.. same as Norway & Sweden really.

Con's
High cost of living, cold/boring weather, not that good looking (no mountains), partially oppressive government (they stole my pirate bay) :/

Say it with me people: Scandinavia! We have decent breweries, lots of fish (om nom nom =3), oil, scenery that looks fucking awesome, very nice places to hike and really 'strong' seasons (in winter, it's COLD, in summer, it's HOT).
Lots of love to France (it's nice, but would be better without the people, or at lest the ones I stayed with) and the czech republic

True, but it wasn't so awesome when these three guys with really big automatic rifles came onto the train looking for people who hadn't paid, and it turned out we had been sold fake tickets.

If you want to move to a European country you best start learning the language now. Ill also ad its pretty difficult to obtain citizenship is the Germanic countries, you need to have lived there for around 7-9 years, and be fluent in the language. I say the Germanic countries because they are the best.
Bullshit, it´s fucking easy to get citizen ship...just go here, pass a test and bingo...you don´t even need to speak that much german, or else i couldn´t figure out how all the inbred mofos speaking in weird tongue losely resembling german could ever have gotten here...
Well that and you don´t need a job to live happily in germany, Hartz IV blows enough money into your lazy ass if you don´t feel like working.

You probably mean Austria or Switzerland with that...switzerland is particulary hard...

Yeah, my dad went to Berlin on a business trip, he thinks it's a great place, nice people, good food, and the night scene is supposed to be really good.
