From Muramasa: The Demon Blade, "Deep in Mountain and Valley A"
There are many more themes from this game that I'd like to put up, but this track definitely stuck out the most. Seriously, this soundtrack is golden.

From the Touhou series, "Magus Night" and "the Grimoire of Alice"
Many of the other themes from this series sound better after they're Arranged/Remixed, but these two can definitely stand up on their own.
From Persona 3, "The Battle for Everyone's Souls"
From Persona 4, "Fog"
From the Fate series (if you consider Visual Novels Games), "Emiya"
From Steins;Gate (again, VN), "GATE OF STEINER -Piano-" (though I like the anime version better so I'll be using that instead).

Also anything by Marty O'Donnell is pretty awesome.

I know this is a link to TVTropes, but this [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/AwesomeMusic/SonicTheHedgehog] is basically a list of all the awesome music throughout the Sonic series. I know "to each their own" and all that, but when near enough every piece of music throughout the series is posted there, you know it's got some amazing music in it.

Here would be my top 5 background music themes. Really hard to pick an absolute favourite but if I did I'd go with Home Sweet Home.

Home Sweet Home and Theme of Love are gorgeously atmospheric, Sekhmet and Frog's Theme are glorious and inspiring and the Sinistral Battle Theme just plain rocks.

LittleBigPlanet Vita. LittleBigPlanet Vita. Little. Big. Planet. Vita.
Buy a Vita and buy this game for its gorgeous soundtrack alone.
Awesome tracks on this game that don't have Youtube uploads for some reason:
Heterotic's remix of Shutter Light Girl by Kuedo, Fly Vision by Arcadion, Carnivalian Chase, Clockwork Garden, The Land of Marianne, The Lost Arcade, etc, etc, JUST BUY THIS FREAKING GAME.

Practically anything from Chrono Cross. Here's a playlist if anyone wants to give it a go.

http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL04ADB121151A2C5E

And if you only try one song, make it this one.

Wish I knew how to embed videos..... :(

grab the everything after the equals sign in the youtube url and place it after [youtube=

eg

becomes

This tune from FFVI would always get stuck in my head. I'm really not sure if this is good or not. It' stuck in my head AGAIN, just finding this link:

I really dug the soundtrack to The World Ends With You, remembering the limitations of a handheld device like the DS, what they crammed onto a cartridge was pretty amazing:

I always liked the them from Jade Empire:
youtube=zHYARoLPpDw]

A lot of how I feel for this soundtrack is tied up in how I feel about the game as whole, but still, good stuff:

Edit: Okies, all spoiler hidden.

Guys, please use spoiler tags, the page is loading like shit.

Anyway, I don't think anyone's mentioned Doom 3's theme yet...

I'm a pretty big fan of how haunting Metroid Prime music can be, and this is one of my favorites.

Although I can go for some exciting stuff too.

I'm going to be using a lot of spoiler tags in this post.

Well I'll start out with the one song that always manages to provoke very powerful emotions in me. Vigil, from the Mass Effect trilogy.

And then I jump to yet another song that turns me into the emotional equivalent of a Jelly Fish... The Opera form Final Fantasy VI.

And with that I'll put the rest under a spoiler tag... so the page can actually load.
And now something a bit more upbeat I really miss the Mega Man X series. After X5 it just wasn't the same.

And then there is this gem from Grandia II. Yet another series I miss horribly.

N This part of the game was so sad, yet epic.

Oh yeah, good old Turtles In Time. It's such a shame the remake SUCKED. Mostly due to the lack of this soundtrack.

Nostalgia bomb incoming!

This song alone was enough to sell me on Prey. I remember how great this game was, I have to go hunting for my old 360 copy I"ve got lying around my house.

Yeah there is just far too much for me to be able to post here. Needless to say, I love music. The soundtrack alone can sometimes make up for a game's weaker points for me. Like in Advent Rising.

]I really wish they would finish this damn trilogy
This post really made me realize just how diverse my taste in video games really is. Most people I've met usually tend to stick to one genre.

Now this is a thread where I know exactly what to post just by looking at the title.

Most Armored Core music, not necessarily ACV, but before that:

From Nexus. And...

From AC4. Ac4 and ACfA are more opera-like than the PS2 OSs, but still damn good.

Phonenix Wright:

I don't know if it's partly the actual game, but when this plays I am f***ing ready to lay down the law!

And last, but not least...:

This used to motivate me to kill monsters. Now it motivates me to kill Capcom. But either way, I defy you to not stand tall and reach for your greatsword upon hearing it.

EDIT: I give up, how does embedding work?

EDIT: Thank you Steppin Razor.

The Tears of Karan
The Elder Scrolls series opening themes

Tears of Karan is an adaptation of Adagio for strings and I prefer this version =) Dammit now I want to go play Homeworld.

Yep pretty much all of bastion.

And an old favorite of mine, The Mystic Forest, Here it is with the shackles of 16bit tossed aside and played on the piano.

I absolutely love this song from Braid that you hear on the title screen.
Pure magic.

Also part of the reason I bought Dust Force was because the music was amazing.

The KF music is pretty good, but after hearing it for so long I don't really listen to it any more.

From memory, this site is a massive custom job. So normal embedding options for videos don't work at all, but we get things like message notifications when quoted in return.

It's pretty simple, though.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tb-gI_pFog0 - is my video I'm putting up. You take the equals sign onwards. So, =Tb-gI_pFog0

Then you put it in square brackets with youtube in front of it. So [ youtube=Tb-gI_pFog0] without the space. Done properly you end up with:
