Western: Morrowind. I don't need shiny graphics, I need content and a storyline that isn't totally half-assed. Though enchanting was much simpler in Oblivion, that's about all I'd incorporate into Morrowind...I mean besides good graphics, I don't need them, but I like them.
Japanese: Hmmm...harder. There's a couple sub-catagories I'm gonna go into here.
Strategy: Disgaea. Hard game, but very satisfying. And the attacks are awesome.
Ummm...not strategy..y'know...: Final Fantasy V or Kingdom Hearts 2, I'm torn. They're awesome in different ways. FFV's class system was epic and I loved the story. Kingdom Hearts 2 is the best example of real-time battling in a JRPG I've ever seen, though I'm sure there are better, and the reaction commands are part of the influence for my idea for "cinematic battling"...which it occurs to me I haven't explained ever, but I'll get around to it. Eventually.
