Best rpg you've ever played

Radiata Stories for the Playstation 2. I won't be surprised if you haven't heard of it, but trust me, it's excellent, and I dislike 90% of JRPGs. Game Informer gave it a 9.25 and Game of the Month, so I'm not the only one who likes it.

Mass Effect 2 is my runner up.

i really liked oblivion so that, but there is something about dragon quest VIII that i love and it was such a bad game really.

Planescape: Torment has one of the best stories and most interesting environments ever.

Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines had one of the creepiest RPG moments in the haunted hotel.

The original two Fallout games and Baldur's Gate series (not the Dark Alliance garbage) are runner-ups to Torment for overall experience.

I'm not a huge fan of RPGs and i don't think i ever will be, but let it be said i did play quite a few some years ago but i still have to say Paper Mario is the one i can look back on and think "Hmm... That game could potentially be played once more someday"

Is there any way, ANY WAY to download Baldur's Gate 2 (by that I mean a legal transaction online, like Steam) to get it to work on Vista

I don't know about getting it legally (I own it), but there are patches to add higher resolutions to all of the Infinity Engine games (including adjusted GUI for Planescape: Torment).

Dragon Age: Origins! Now THAT is an RPG. Also, I absolutely loved KOTOR, the Golden Sun games, Morrowind, Oblivion and Fallout 3. But it's Dragon Age for me.

Yaas i cant believe it took so long for someone to say Pokemon. I know a couple more have said it since your post but whatever. I was blue aswell. Ugh talking about it makes me wish i knew where my gameboy was.

Hmm... Tried to brush that off but no use in denying it. Just a little bit jealous.
Luckily my jealousy is being overpowered by acute nostlgia.

Unless you mean Role-Playing-game..then that would probably be something like Saint's Row or GTA.
Borderlands is semi-RPG-ish and it's ok.
