Wow. You had a lot to say
I agree with you but, while I have heard many people bashing the KH2 battle system, I found it far more engaging than its predecessor. It felt much more fast pace than the first and you gotta admit it looked pretty.
Another thing I loved was the highly improved Gummi Ship segments. The first game's ship levels were boring to the point of dreading each time you had to do it, the second game actually had me looking forward to the next high speed space adventure.
All in all, it felt far more in depth than the first and I gotta give them props for that.
Though I will disagree with you on Oblivion. Personally, I never saw what people were talking about when they referred to bad or dated graphics or unnatural character movements. Sure, they kinda move in a robotic march but it's a goddamn videogame filled with thousands of NPCs, what do you expect?
And I was actually debating over saying Final Fantasy X but the battle system...eh. I love the game to death and it's my favorite FF, but I'm not one for turn based combat but the fact that it kept my attention the whole way through despite my preference for real time fighting is amazing in it's own right. But still, I had to give it to Kingdom Hearts because only one other video game's story has been that engaging to me
Oh and definitely play Demon's Souls. It may start out slow and kick your ass countless times, call you "******," kick sand in your eyes while your down and make off with your girlfriend all at the same time but it'll keep you coming back for more until you finally best it and no game I've ever played has such a rewarding and satisfactory feeling when you finally beat a level.
i'm not bashing it as such, i love how cool some of the triangle attacks/QTE's are and yes, it did look amazing most the time. but i found that quite often if i stopped pressing anything, Sora would keep on going with whatever he was doing for another few seconds. as if he was just doing his thing whenever i pressed buttons, and as if i caught him out on being more in control than me. i do enjoy the fighting system, way above many other games (its easily one of the best real time ones i've had, as well as the most accessible), just i still say the first one was better (not to watch though, hell no, i'd much rather watch someone on KH2 xD)... maybe its just a player thing.
oh, of course, the improved gummy ships! haha, i forgot about those. yeah, that warp that you get on the first game was the second best part of the gummy ships (the first being designing them, i had a lot of fun with that

). But i absolutely relished the gummy ship parts in the second one. so much fun
yeah, the second game had a lot more better aspects than the first, so i am hoping that whatever more could be milked from the series combines the best aspects from both of them.
Ah, i'm fine with Oblivion talking after the first 2/3 conversations, because then i find myself back inside the game... its just that first conversation really throws me, especially after playing other games where conversations run smoother/more naturally. I actually like the robotic movement though, it means i can figure out how to dodge certain attacks and can usually anticipate whats coming next

its quick-flowing robotic movement too, meaning that i rarely notice it at all.
Yeah, everybody has their preferences. I'm a really weird gamer in that i seem to have none in the way of gameplay aspects. I like turn-based as much as i like real-time, i don't try compare the two as i view it like comparing food with drink. They are both in one broad category, but are both very different. What i do compare though is different turn-based things. I'm big on setting things up for the long run, but on the other hand i am also very fond of quickly having to make decisions based purely upon something the enemy has spontaneously done. so real time is also fun in that sense.
the only "turn based" games that i'm not fond of are the ones that try to immitate real-time. i'm not talking about Crisis Core style (thats pretty similar to KH actually), i'm thinking more the FFXII one, where you can run around whilst waiting for your turn to arrive. just frustrates me in so many ways, but this is long already without me complaining about that XD
I'll pick it up when i get the opportunity
EDIT: yeah, sorry, i'm like that when it comes to some forum posts. i used to love posting massive posts on an old forum (Bleachanime.org) as it passes time and is rather fun xD and all you do is express your opinions
