And even if you do "win" they'll just have cloaked webway gates everywhere so it takes an hour to hunt down the last bonesinger with his ridonkulous teleport range.
I never liked Eldar in Dawn of War 1, mostly because the games graphics just couldn't do the art-design justice and ended up making all their units look stupid as hell. Shallow, I know, but I couldn't help it! In DOW2 though I started to take more of a liking to em, the units actually looked interested and they were much more entertaining and less cheap to play.
Even in DOW2 however the Avatar is perhaps the weakest 'uber' unit, especially considering its cost. From experience I know an upgraded nob squad being boosted by the Warboss abilities are more than a match for a lone Avatar, which is kinda cheap considering the Avatar is literally twice the cost.
The reason I like em though is because they dominate the battlefield when you see em. Their health makes em perfect for charging in and breaking a defensive position, while their abilities force any smart player to move or die. The ultimate bane of the unattentive 'blob' attack player, who are coincidentally the type of player I hate fighting the most so it works out well for me!
You rarely see Avatar being deployed anymore because as mentioned above they're pretty damn weak for their cost, and I stopped playing Eldar in DOW2 in favor of da Okrz, but I still gotta love the guys if only because watching a giant sword-wielding god of war charging into a battle is absolutely terrifying to behold, and if he ever manages to hit your units with his special attack, they're as good as dead!
