I do have a quick question that is not sign related and is thus heretical, but;

What is this for?
This whole rally thing. As a not-American I am confused as to what these TV personas are actually trying to do.
To help try and restore some sanity and reason to people.

OT: Awesome.

Still, some of my favorite signs go to the ones at last Comic-con. When they counter-protested some extremists or something, I forgot who they were.

Still, funny signs from that one.
Westborough Baptists, Derghh

who else would they be?
I don't know. I tend to ignore trolls, so I kind of forgot what they were called...

I saw a few of them that were great. Yet they escape me for now.

Goddammit memory...

One guy at the Rally held up a sign "I Hate Crowds". There were a lot of signs like that. Eat it, Glenn Beck.

I was there as well, awesome eh?
My favorite was probably "The Civil War was an inside job!" but there were a ton of good ones.
I've got about 30 pictures of just funny signs but I don't know how to post images =/

Use this site. http://www.tinypic.com/ [http://www.tinypic.com/]

As for myself, I don't have any funny pictures of signs unfortunately.

I Heart Chaos had a huge gallery of great signs from the rally. It's funny, as a looked through I really started to gain hope for my country. It was nice.

Didnt that happen in 1933 or something like that?
Yes, in 1936, with Jessie Owens famously winning four golds right in Hitler's face. Owens was black.

The signs made me laugh. Fails are so much funnier than wins.

There was a guy dressed as Doctor Insano with a sign asking to bring back Crystal Pepsi (gigantic TGWTG inside joke).

So, yeah, that one was my favorite.

The rally rocked overall.

Rally to Restore Sanity... political rally?

So, are we like burning politicians now? Cause I can not see how those two would go together any other way.
It's not to do with politicians, but with common folk. Jon Stewart encourages reasonable discussion and disagreement between normal people even when the politicians of the country are all immersed in massive poo-flinging.

Down here in ATX, there was a guy dressed in a labcoat, wearing gloves and safety glasses, and he had fuzzy hair and was holding a fake raygun. In short, he was dressed up as a stereotypical mad scientist. The sign he was holding read: "Mad scientists for sanity."
Nothing can ever top this level of awesomeness, not even the zombie with the "Health care reform kills (the undead)" sign. A close second, a guy with a sign reading "RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE."

Get attention, same as any TV persona. Stewart & Colbert are satirist entertainers, and at their best when devoid of a point. (Not that there weren't agendas to be had.)

If you are curious, I found this reason.tv coverage to be a reasonable sampling of the attitudes, signs, costumes...

I thought so. I was trying to be sarcastic about it for humour but thanks for the exact date.

WTH is a comic-con? America is one of the few countries with these conventions...

At least in Australia you get a smack on the head for stupid protesting as it does sweet flap all.

Edit: I just read those signs and from what I understand there's a bunch of xenophobic americans protesting something (and they can't spell xenOphobic... although Morans is also a family name). WTF is wrong with bears, gay marriage, muslims, or Barack Obama (who cares, do you even know we got a female PM for the first time? I bet not).

Why would you even attend it either? All that's going to happen is you'll laugh at some people who seriously believe in 16th century policies and then go home.

You know, I actually hadn't been paying much attention to this before now. I kind of wish I had. I just have an urge to share this with everyone I know.
