BEST SIGN EVER at Rally to Restore Sanity

My favorite that I saw were two guys standing next to each other, one of them with a sign that said "The Rent Is Too Damn High!" and the other with a sign that said "The Rent Is Marginally High, But Acceptable!"

I do have a quick question that is not sign related and is thus heretical, but;

What is this for?
This whole rally thing. As a not-American I am confused as to what these TV personas are actually trying to do.

To help try and restore some sanity and reason to people.

OT: Awesome.

Still, some of my favorite signs go to the ones at last Comic-con. When they counter-protested some extremists or something, I forgot who they were.

Still, funny signs from that one.

WTH is a comic-con? America is one of the few countries with these conventions...

At least in Australia you get a smack on the head for stupid protesting as it does sweet flap all.

Edit: I just read those signs and from what I understand there's a bunch of xenophobic americans protesting something (and they can't spell xenOphobic... although Morans is also a family name). WTF is wrong with bears, gay marriage, muslims, or Barack Obama (who cares, do you even know we got a female PM for the first time? I bet not).

Why would you even attend it either? All that's going to happen is you'll laugh at some people who seriously believe in 16th century policies and then go home.

You see they were protesting everything said about politics on television. And congrats on a female PM. And towards the end of the rally Stewart gave a great speech about how broken our political system is and what an afful job out media does of representing us.
OT:I liked the one that said "According to Glen Beck there are 17 million people here" I heard from the New Yourk Times that there were 6 billion there. Were there?

The Rally to Restore Sanity And/Or Fear was held in an effort to explain to Congress that we're sick of the bullshit that's been going on in DC for the last couple decades. The American political system is getting more and more ridiculous, so they held a rally to protest it.

After seeing a bit of the rally, I have to say once you get down to the actual politics, the 'voices of reason' at this rally aren't much different then most uninformed liberals.


Best parts are all the people who say 'calling Obama is a Nazi is wrong, but it was fine when we did it to Bush, because he deserved it.' and the guy who thinks that Keynesian deficit spending is actually a good thing.

They call them rallies, we call them marches. Mark Thomas, Jeremy Hardy and Mark Steel have all done similar. If you think Joanna Lumley supporting the Ghurkas, you've just about got it.

Sooo, Obama should have done nothing to slow the recession? Is that what you are saying? Actually, some of us liberals think that calling Bush a Nazi or Hitler is wrong too... because we recognized that just because some of the policies are fascist (and they WERE, remember the Patriot Act?) doesn't justify comparing someone to a mass-murdering fuckhead.
