I was playing some Cold War Crisis an hour ago when I played this one level called After Montignac.

In the earlier mission your squad is ordered to attack the village of Montignac. After the assault, HQ orders all units to withdraw from the island. Your squad is then ordered to be evacuated by a Blackhawk. The Blackhawk gets shot down by an enemy Hind. You have to run to a nearby forest to avoid the Hind.

After Montignac starts with you being in that forest. Your squad is dead and the radio isn't working. You then have 30 minutes(Not sure about the time) to get to the evacuation point alone. Only problem is that it's very far away and there are many Russians on the way.

That level is just so intense. You know that if you fire a bullet, you will most likely die within seconds. For me, it's the best single player level made.

So, what about you? What's your favorite level?

Chapter 5-3 from Demon's Souls. Seriously, that was just so moody and filled to the brim with great storytelling, music etc that it made my gamedesign brain explode with awesomeness.

Fighting against Garl Vinland and the Maiden Astraea was simply beautifully designed. Especially if you knew the story behind them and the area.

The Castle That Never Was in Kingdom Hearts 2. That place was awesome, and had cool boss fights.

Runner up is "Rolling Stones" on Crash Bandicoot, mostly due to the theme.

Yeah, Cliffhanger was really fun. Mostly because it was so Hollywood style.

It was the part where Soap pulled you up the cliff that made that level for me. It was awesome to the bone, I say.

The Spirit Temple in Ocarina of Time and Click Clock Woods in Banjo Kazooie are my 2 favourite levels of all time. The music in particular brings back great memories.

What about the sniper mission in COD 4? Now THAT was intense on the first run.

Or the assault on the control room level in the original Halo.

sniper mission was a pain in the arse...mainly cuz i kept going for the head. hit him in the head and his arm flys off. i wanted to see if i could cheat the system. But when i properly tried it i kept on failing

The last main temple in Zelda: Majora's Mask.
How they implemented the "You've turn the entire level upside down" gimmick was a work of genius. It was cleverly hidden away in the architecture for much of the level.

I meant the mission before that one. The one where your following the guy into the sniper position. I think it was called "All ghillied up"

The Milkman Conspiracy - Psychonauts.

It's just so hilariously amazing and fun!
In fact I might as well say the entire game.
