Im gonna say Burn Notice, love that show. Also Jeffery Donovin went to my high school, just as a cool side note.

Firefly, Futurama.
Recently though, Most of my favourite tv shows are actually animés if that counts; Full metal alchemist, Death note, darker than black and Elfen lied are all brilliant. At the moment I'm watching claymore which is also fucking fantastic.
I'm guessing from now on I'll be watching a lot more animé...

Firefly! The fact that it was canceled does not deny that it was the best television show of the decade.

Do I need to say anything other than Fresh Prince?

Well, you could say something other than Fresh Prince if you wanted to mention a TV show from this past decade and not the 90s...

Honestly, is it even possible to have a show more quintessentially 90's (AKA, not this decade) then Fresh Prince?

Shows how much TV I'VE watched in the past 10 years then...

Still, it's my favorite TV show.

EDIT: 1000th Post.

There is a lot of contenders that I would have to put on a very short list. Firefly is the obvious. Top Gear managed to absolutely engulf me in spite of my complete lack of interest in cars. Family Guy and The Office practically define comedy. But overall, I'm gonna have to give the award to House. Because of its sheer breadth. Everyone I know of all age groups likes House. House is a truly interesting, multi-faceted character that appeals to the geek in everyone. Its got long term character development, and really excellent, wry humor that never gets old. Its got a heaping helping of everything you could want. And so, House takes the cake.

Well, maybe I just prefer shows of the past, and not so much more recently.

King of Queens started in (I think) 1999 and went to 2007, but it was a great show.

Also, Friends. I know it started in 1994 and went to 2004, but still. I love that show.

Nominations:
Futurama
Arrested Development
The Wire
Heroes
American Dad
Lie to me
Riding hood (I think that is what it's called)
Spooks

Winner:
Heroes - Well season 1 anyway, if you are looking at all seasons/shows then it has to be Arrested development or Lie to me.

I think they did do a second season, although it was cut short I think, I didn't see it (they moved it from the terestrial channels) but I agree the first season was pretty good.

How I Met Your Mother, BSG or The Colbert Report.
Though if things that started before 2000 but continued afterwards count, then:

(Season 8 was the best anyway, and that ran during the last decade)
