Firefly. Need I say more?
Yes you do, especially when other shows actually lasted more than one season. I know that it technically wasn't Joss's fault, but I still hold no sympathy for him.
I like Firefly as much as the next guy, but I think the best show goes to one that died recently due to old age, but it lived an amazing life.
The show you ask? Well it's none other than...

Yes that did die recently.

I want to say FlashForward, simply because it's the first show in a very long time to be able to keep me in the dark in a way that makes me care about what is going to happen. Can't wait for it to come back in March.

Sons of Anarchy is a fucking kick ass Hamlet inspired show, it's a beautiful thing. Oh also It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is goddamn hilarious.

Dollhouse is pretty awesome too.

Battlestar Galactica hands down. The acting and casting was superb and the actors really showed how much they loved the show and their roles. The theatrics and design was mind blowingly awesome, with great CGI and camerawork. The story, while had a few bumpy points, was brilliantly told with deep characters and themes. It not only was a story about survival, but about humanity, family, religion, faith, and an amalgam of so many other themes that made it more than your typical sci fi.

The story also had a set beginning and end, it didn't drag on and knew just when it was time to close the curtains which is a very admirable effort in my books. Too many shows are either cut too short and don't know when to end, and BSG paced itself pretty well and knew just when it was time to wrap things up.

Show of the fucking decade for sure, it just did so many things right. As for runner up, and a show that started in the mid 90's and continued on the prosper in this decade, definitely goes to good old SG-1. 10 years of non stop episodes and maintaining a rather consistent quality with endearing characters and some unique stories and settings. I love you SG-1, I'm a die hard fan, but BSG definitely takes the decade, you still dominate your own era though.

Did we watch the same show?
To me it had a start, AND NO idea of where it was going on next. Around the end i felt all the magic from season one had died.

Why, of course you may!

I'll admit that the first season of the 'new' Doctor Who was quite enjoyable, the one with Christopher Eccleston, but after this brief moment of joy:

1) Terrible acting (David Tennant for example, he's irritating)
2) Utterly predictable plots
3) Why is everything on Earth?
4) WHAT THE FUCK IS CATHERINE TATE DOING HERE?
5) In the entire universe and all of time, why are we on modern day Earth again?
6) The cheesiness, whilst I understand this is a fundamental part of Dr Who, it wears thin.
7) Oh look, it's 20XX Earth again.
8) Billie Piper.

I'm going with Attack of the Show!. Ok, yes it is a bit stupid at times but I love it, my brothers all love it and to me it feels like the best cult ever. (I call it a cult because if they say to do something, the viewers *will* do it. Case & point: Pereira Waffle Pyramid & Pie Week.)

The first series of Heroes. I wish they had cancelled it immediately afterwards.

Life on Mars was awesome too.

Ah, the terrible plague of RTD writing. Yes, that has been a low point, but I do have to stick up for Catherine Tate, as I think she was underappreciated. (And this is from someone who loathes that comedy show she does)

No matter, Steven Moffat is taking over and I think we'll see a return to some proper Who episodes rather than the cobbled together, LCD pleasers we've had of late.

Do I take it you liked Marfa though?

No one likes Martha.
Any Doctor Who episode with the OOD in it is the bomb.

I vote for Dexter, I've not seen the third series yet though.

But she was so gutwrenchingly annoying! It's like everything wrong with Britain was mashed into one actor and for some inexplicable reason people find her funny (Tate).

I did watch the last of Tennant's episodes and must admit it wasnt too bad, infact it was the first time I'd almost enjoyed his acting as it was somewhat downplayed compared to his usual "I must appear to overact everything" type approach, the introduction of the new Doctor however didnt leave me much hope for the next season, but I'll wait and see.

Missed out on pretty much all of Martha thingies episodes though so never formed much of an opinion.

I think Dr Who reminds me too much of shitheaps such as Merlin and that thing with the dinosaurs, I bloody hate Merlin...
