Best TV show of All Time

Invader Zim was always one of my favorites. Also Dexter and The Soup (because it makes fun of all the trash on T.V.)

Its kinda hard to compare shows to another for being the 'best', so lets split it out in genres.

Comedy: definitely Family Guy .
Sci-Fi: Star Trek TNG (some would say StarGate/Battlestar Galatica but they suck!)
Adventure: LOST I think....
Action: The A-Team!!11!!
Horror/magical: I liked Charmed for a good while, but I dont know if it beats Buffy/Angel.

Hey, don't you insult Battlestar Galactica, it's awesome, definitely the best sci-fi show out there(I assume you're talking about the new BSG, cause the old one did suck).

Edit: And Stargate's pretty good too. I don't know about Star Trek, never watched it.

Let's just add a couple of shows I really like:

-Primeval(mostly because of the idea)
-Surface
-South Park
-Family Guy
-American Dad
-Futurama


Unfortunately, Eureka, Primeval and Surface have all been cancelled.......

Ugh. Not a fair question, since there were so many good ones. And then you have to take into account that TV in the 80s and early 90s utterly kicked the shit out of anything that's on today. So instead, I'll just list stuff I watched as a kid and let you guys fight over which one I liked best:

Its a toss up between three for me. Dexters lab, Digimon and Futurama. They all kick ass in different ways.

Me too. I have watched all of those episodes so many times and I'm still not tired of it.

Hard choice. Dexter is a great drama type show thing, Futurama is hilarious scripted comedy, but Qi has some of the best people coming onto the panels and making funny jokes. Most of them mature, surprisingly.
EDIT: Ooh, and I also adore Top Gear. Especially when they have their big races or adventures.

Firefly is/was my favourite, though I doubt I'm qualified to make the call for "best tv show of all time".

I've also enjoyed early simpsons, futurama, south park, the IT crowd, top gear, Spartacus, extras, arrested development and numerous others.

I think M*A*S*H probably takes it. Comedy/drama that is still funny and still dramatic. So many shows age horribly and just aren't funny to today's audience. And if you don't cry when you learn why Hawkeye went crazy at the end, you probably don't have a soul. It had twelve seasons and after about three decades it still comes up in every discussion about "best TV show of all time." And until recently, the final episode was the most watched episode in US history with 105 million tuning in at the time.
