Arrested Development, Lost, South Park are probably my top 3 of all time, but honorable mentions go to The IT Crowd, Black Books, Father Ted, Top Gear, Yu-Gi-Oh(The Abridged Series, does it count?), The Inbetweeners, Metalocalypse, Malcolm In The Middle, Futurama, The US Office, and maybe, just maybe, the first two seasons of Bo'Selecta, but that's a big maybe.

Firefly, Dexter and Breaking bad are all on my list to watch so ill be back when I have seen them all.

But yeah, I can't really decided between Arrested Development and Lost.

Firefly, Star Trek TNG and Farscape.
Probably the best series out there in my opinion among many others that should be posted.

People name alot of new stuff.. so I have been inspired to name an oldy I really loved. I even liked the many cheesy movies they put out after the series was kaput.

Arrested Development, tbh. Funniest 2 and a half seasons of show you will EVER see.

And shame on the vast majority of you for never seeing it. Only downside though, as someone else said, to really get all the jokes you have to watch it from the very start of the series. Really was one of the best written shows ever, though.

Breaking Bad and The Shield are both awesome, too.

umm...maybe the Simpsons (even the new episodes are better than family guy)
Arrested Development was great.
Death note the best anime I've ever seen.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is great just because four friends were able to make a series just by shooting a short comedy sketch.

Spooks.

Or MI5, if you're American.

There simply is no competition, yet hardly anyone knows it.

Firefly (for being the best space-opera to date)
Black Books (for being the best comedy-series to date)

and House. Because, you know... Hugh Laurie... *drool*

It was more consistently good, I suppose, and they were very good presenters. I think Amstell might have been better than Lamarr, though, if a little cruel at times. Did he and Bailey dislike one another, do you know?

And yes, Mr Fry is a champion.
Something between Amstell and Bailey? I never noticed... But I really can't imagine Bill Bailey disliking someone on screen... Amstell was good but I didn't really like the weird gimmicky things (can't think of an example right now) that he did sometimes, but it might have been the show rather than the presenter. But I certainly didn't think Amstell was any more cruel than Lamarr was.. I used to love his rants where he goes "I enjoyed blah blah... by enjoy I mean I would rather fork in eye something horrible etc etc..." Hmm.. maybe Amstell might have been nastier to his guests up front, whereas Lamarr just did more cruel jokes.

Charlie Brooker is good sometimes but I haven't watched Newswipe yet. He can be a bit irritating occasionally, although it was thanks to him that I discovered the awesome Trapped in the Closet http://www.youtube.com/verify_age?next_url=/watch%3Fv%3DJV_N7i-95Nk (would embed but I'd have to create a Youtube account to verify my age, which I cannot be arsed to do, especially since I already have an account but every time I try to log in it thinks I'm my partner's mother, Lynette.)

Oh, and if I remember correctly, he co-wrote Nathan Barley, which I like.
I never really found him annoying but this might be because some of the cynical stuff he says I quite agree with. Newswipe is some of his best stuff in my opinion, you should definitely check it out. Never actually watched all of Trapped in a Closet, I'll check out the rest soon, but the bit he showed on his show was hilarious, "not only is there a man in the cabinet, but the man is a midget!" lol. Did you watch the big fat quiz of the year 2009? Charlie Brooker was one of the guests and he was sometimes a bit overshadowed by the other guests, but still damn funny.

Nathan Barley I don't know about... but I'll check it out.

Megas XLR.... the only show to be met with UNANIMOUS PRAISE on 4chan.

Aside from that, I would also pick The Simpsons, the Mentalist, Fringe, and big Bang Theory.... As for anime, you would have to give me some time to root through all of them, and pick the best 5-10.... Ghost in the Shell, Baccano, and Cowboy bebop being in the top 5.

Family guy used to be funny.... now all its recent episodes dont even make me laugh... Probably thier over-reliance on trying to shock the audiance with "the Aristocrats" style.

And I dont even see what people see in The Office.

Stargate SG-1.

From Children of the Gods [http://stargate.wikia.com/wiki/Children_of_the_Gods] to Unending [http://stargate.wikia.com/wiki/Unending], I bloody loved em' all.
