I'm glad to see that Hansi Kursch has been mentioned:)

Also, Angela Gossow from Arch Enemy. Awesome voice, and hot like there's no tomorrow. What more do you need people!

Still I LOVE Bruce Dickinson. The guy is just too amazing for words, both in voice and in general awesomeness.

I suppose I'll have to include Howard Jones on my list because most metalcore singers are utterly and completely one-fucking-dimensional, but even though I'm not a Killswitch fan, the way Howard can tear his throat out screaming and then hit one of those massive choruses is impressive.

My favourite metal vocalist hands down is Tom Araya because he's still got a magnificent roar even though he's 49.
Anyway, other ones I like are Ihsahn (Emperor), Max Cavalera (Sepultura/Soulfly), Papa Hetfield (who doesn't like him, man?), Liam Cormier (Cancer Bats), Bruce Dickinson, Robb Flynn (Machine Head), Corey Taylor (Slipknot/Stone Sour) and Philly Byrne (Gama Bomb).

Oh also the singers for Eluveitie. Not many people can make chanting in Celtic sound METAL. Growling in Celtic is more METAL, but still they make it even more METAL!

I was reminded as I quoted you, and looked back at your message. They're quite awesome, although not my cup of tea. Although I did like Nightwish, Lost Eden, Arch Enemy and Kalmah. I must thank you, I've had a music drought recently and this was quite refreshing. So, congratulations, you win this:

Also, the Arch Enemy singer is scary. She sounds like a demon.

! The lost cake :D

Not your cup of tea? WHAT????

Nah, I'm just kiddin' If you don't like 'em, that's your own thing but I'm glad you liked those other bands. Lost Eden and Arch Enemy are my two favorites, though I'm surprised that since you like Children of Bodom so much that you haven't heard of Arch Enemy before.

And yeah, Angela Glasgow sounds fucking amazing.

I had heard about Arch Enemy before. Hell, I even bought my brother one of their albums. I just never bothered to check them out until recently. And to say that I like Children of Bodom is an understatement. They're the most awesome thing to ever come out of Finland and I fucking love the guitar solos. (Although they're still no match against In Flames.)

In my opinion all the vocalists who featured in the Ayreon album 01011001. (I can't speak for the rest since it's the only on of theirs I've heard).
They're just amazing. I can't stop listening.

Fabio Lione from Rhapsody, best power metal vocals of all time. For thrash, probably Philly Byrne from Gama Bomb. For black metal, Varg Vikernes sounded like he was being tortured, which is awesome. Speed metal would definitely be Lemmy, but all up, definitely Bruce Dickinson.

EDIT: I forgot to mention Johan Hegg for viking metal.

Well, it's good you like them. They're one of my favorites along with Children of Bodom.

Although, I like CoB's newer stuff more than their other music

Like Hate Crew Deathroll and after are my favorite albums.

Surprised you didn't have Mikael Akerfeldt from Opeth.

He can do the amazing growls and then actually sing into higher, beautiful tones. His range is staggering

Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth), his death growls are awesome and his clean voice is beautiful

Chance Garnette (Skeletonwitch), my personal favourite. Mixes black and death metal vocals excellently

Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden), can't have a list like this without this man

Ronnie James Dio (Black Sabbath), same goes for this man
yeesssss, someone who understands the awesomeness of Opeth!

I only have to add Serj Tankian and James LaBrie to that list, and we're done.

I like all of their albums. It's hard to pick a favorite since they're all so different. But if forced, I think I'll choose Blooddrunk. Are You Dead Yet was a brave effort, but it was a little bit lacking on the melody part (although it was still awesome, and I loved In Your Face). Blooddrunk was heavy, dark, and had excellent melodies.

almost forgot, Rody walker of protest the hero has gotten really good with the last album, and is the only bombastic singer I like, the kind which most people here list actually.
Beat me to it... I would say Tommy Rogers.

I guess I agree with you about Are You Dead Yet, but if I had to choose a favorite, it'd be between Blooddrunk and Hate Crew Death Roll

Lemmy: Do I need to explain?

Bruce Dickinson: His vocals go great with the epic context of Iron maidens' songs.

Rob Halford: A huge range of vocal styles.

Nergal: I love his death growling. The high pitched screams he displayed on behemoths early records were great too.

And Troy Sanders, Brent hinds, and Brann Dailor from Mastodon, because they go great with the music
