What are your thoughts on the Greatest and Lamest endings.

For me the worst has got to be Borderlands, although it wasnt meant to have much of a story, nothing can justify the utterly horrendous boss fight and completely pointless ending.

Getting through the whole damn thing with promises of candy and fast cars inside the vault, and ya get a bloody tentacle monster!

You kill it, it drops some money and then a short few lines of dialogue from that "Guardian Angel" are supposed to have you make some idea of what the hell just happened

Why couldnt it have just been your character on the 50th story balcony of some big mansion made of gold (yes gold) in some far away happy place, drinking high priced marguaritas and smiling?

Least that would have had some GODDAMN CLOSURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As for the best i would have to say Call of Duty one.

Its not the end of some seriously far fetched and messed up plot, which is even worse put together than that of a Michael Bay movie.

Its not your character taking down the bad guy, saving the damsel in distress and swinging via grappling hook into a helicopter.

Its simply a short monologue of a Russian soldier telling of surviving the war and meeting with US soldiers who speak a language he doesnt know and basically feeling he is one of them, while sweet music and black and white clips of the final days of the war in Europe are shown.

Its less awe inspiring and "AWESOME" compared to other endings, but its simply just beautiful.

As for most disturbing for me it goes to Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl, the "humanity is corrupt" ending.

Your character wishes for humanity to be controlled, and is confronted with a series of horrible visions, of disease of war, and of death.

It eventually stops, everything seems alright.

But your character opens his eyes and looks around, everything whether in his head or in reality, is gone.

Its just this horrible realisation of what youve done, i nearly expected the computer to say,
"Congratulations, you killed the world."

Anyways what are your thoughts on these endings or your own?

In Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl, there's actually more than that ending you described. And they pretty much all suck (as in, are bad for the protagonist).

The Call of Duty: World at War ending was just freaking epic! Honestly, I liked the game itself, but the ending turned that like into love.

I was very underwhelmed by the KotOR good ending. I was expecting something more than "Thanks for everything, here's a medal."

Killer 7...

What...the...fuck?...

Well, I'll tell you my most Disturbing, because I can't think of the others.

After fighting the literal embodiment of hell and your own paranoia, and killing the suspect you were supposed to take in, you meet your friend who helped you through the whole thing in a restaurant. It turns out that she betrayed you too. You go into the bathroom, trying to make sense of the whole mess. And then, well...

This happens.

It totally freaks the shit out of me.
The whole thing about Condemned, is that they set it up for a sequel, but the momentum of the story was still going full bore at the ending leaving a whole shitload of things unexplained. After playing Condemned 2 it all made sense.

Heavy Rain had some sad endings. I mean real downers that made me want to go my other save and look at the happier endings just so I could feel a little better. Imagine a child slowly slipping into the dark abyss that is death and his father lamenting his death. Real dreary stuff, man.

Worst ending: I'm going to have to give a second vote to Borderlands.
Best Ending: I really like Call of Duty 4. I know a lot of people don't but I quite like the way they set the team out as the unsung heroes, with the news reports showing nothing of how close the world was to the brink.
Most disturbing: Bioshock 2's evil ending. I did have to play the game deliberately trying to get it, but it's not a nice feeling having created some sort of monster.

I got a different ending from that, but it left my jaw gaping for 10 seconds before I had to force my mouth closed. Here's what happened for me:

So Ethan has just saved his son, and I let Shelby walk away. Maddison never went to the warehouse because I was unable to find the location of it with her and Jayden never found the location either, despite me having the evidence needed to find it. So I was feeling all happy that Ethan had saved his son, and as he walks outside the warehouse, the cops are there, and that asshole Blake gives the order to open fire. Watching Ethan get shot after all he had been through to save his son, just fuck. I only finished it earlier so it's still very fresh in my mind.

Best ending was Battlefield Bad Company. It made me laugh and it was just one of those feel good moments.
Worst ending was Borderlands, especially after such a good game it didn't make any sense.
And I can't think of any ending that disturbed me.

Awesome Ending? I guess I haven't had that much experiance when it comes to "Absolutly awesome" but I would go with Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne

Worst Ending? Non-DLC Fallout 3

Sanitarium... but then again, the same thing can be said about the entire game, not just the ending.
Of of the most disturbing games ever made in every way.

Hm.. For me the worst ending would have to be

So you've amassed your party, reforged an ancient powerful sword, been blessed by several ancient dieties, defeat the King of Shadows, and you get crushed by falling rocks.

As for best ending... Not much springs to mind for me except maybe the end of Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne and maybe Call of Duty: World at War.

Wow! I hated Blake before but now I down right despise the jerk.
Also what is up with those tanks and Jayden? Does anybody know what was that about?
