What are your thoughts on the Greatest and Lamest endings.
For me the worst has got to be Borderlands, although it wasnt meant to have much of a story, nothing can justify the utterly horrendous boss fight and completely pointless ending.
Getting through the whole damn thing with promises of candy and fast cars inside the vault, and ya get a bloody tentacle monster!
You kill it, it drops some money and then a short few lines of dialogue from that "Guardian Angel" are supposed to have you make some idea of what the hell just happened
Why couldnt it have just been your character on the 50th story balcony of some big mansion made of gold (yes gold) in some far away happy place, drinking high priced marguaritas and smiling?
Least that would have had some GODDAMN CLOSURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As for the best i would have to say Call of Duty one.
Its not the end of some seriously far fetched and messed up plot, which is even worse put together than that of a Michael Bay movie.
Its not your character taking down the bad guy, saving the damsel in distress and swinging via grappling hook into a helicopter.
Its simply a short monologue of a Russian soldier telling of surviving the war and meeting with US soldiers who speak a language he doesnt know and basically feeling he is one of them, while sweet music and black and white clips of the final days of the war in Europe are shown.
Its less awe inspiring and "AWESOME" compared to other endings, but its simply just beautiful.
As for most disturbing for me it goes to Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl, the "humanity is corrupt" ending.
Your character wishes for humanity to be controlled, and is confronted with a series of horrible visions, of disease of war, and of death.
It eventually stops, everything seems alright.
But your character opens his eyes and looks around, everything whether in his head or in reality, is gone.
Its just this horrible realisation of what youve done, i nearly expected the computer to say,
"Congratulations, you killed the world."
Anyways what are your thoughts on these endings or your own?
