I think we're talking about 2 different eras of Pantera =P

You know, this is actually the first time I've listened to stuff from their glam days.
It's interesting that you like Cowboys From Hell because that's the final album that still has a few identifiable traces of the band's early glam sound (especially vocally).

Traces of glam, yes. Phil's voice stays in that upper register for the most memorable parts. That album has my all-time favorite song on it, Cemetery Gates. I love everything after CFH honestly, never really listened to the glam stuff so I can't comment on that. Vulgar Display of Power and Far Beyond Driven are hands down two of the most intense albums ever made.
