It is one of my goals in life to play this song live in front of a crowd of aging 90's kids.

I'd heard Skepticism and Shape of Despair, liking them alright, Wormphlegm consider themselves funeral doom. I've actually had quasi arguments with my friends about funeral doom, to the extent that I made a fake funeral doom myspace band http://myspace.com/funeraldoomsucks in a mocking good humor way to caricature how easy it is to play. But I've definitely appreciated Sunn O))) for pretty much the entirety of their catalogue.Wardnath said:That is the "funeral" variant of doom metal, good sir.Mjolnir07 said:Wow, I've never heard of these guys before. Actually, I've never heard anything quite like this and am not sure what to call it, but it's good.
Other bands in the same vein include Skepticism, Shape of Despair, and Torture Wheel.
Also, "drone doom". Can't get much slower than this.
Nice. I haven't listened to Meshuggah in a few years, thanks for the reminder of how awesome they are.Daedalus1942 said:I likes me some dillinger, but i likes me some 'shuggah" moreso

Nope, they're core. I know there's this movement to identify them as death metal, and I'll hand it to them that they're closer to death metal than any other core band, but still core. Sorry man.EcoEclipse said:The Black Dahlia Murder is actually just death metal, not core.

The truest, cultest, grimmest black metal is just line static.MadeinHell said:I have a very strong urge to just place loud annoying white sound in here... you can't top that in the "heavy" class.
Suicide Silence were the premiere deathcore band, and I personally will always reign war against them for that.koschei8 said:THE DOCTORS WON'T BE ABLE TO RECOGNIZE YOUR FUCKING FACE!Pirate Kitty said:Pfft. You guys don't know what heavy means.

Are you kidding? That song is awesome.BobDobolina said:Okay, this is probably flamebait, but what the hell.

Pisses all over every metal band from a great height.
Thank you for not being one of those closed minded assholes who just automatically label anything they don't like as talentless drivel. I respect this comment so fucking much.Mjolnir07 said:I don't particularly care for SYL but I have some respect for Devin Townsend. Granted I don't actually like any of his music, but there is no denying his talent.
I think we're talking about 2 different eras of Pantera =PBonsaiK said:Nothing like a bit of good old Pantera...DeadFOAM said:Pantera

Also, that song has got to be the least representative of Burzum ever.
This is more like it:
I miss the old Darkthrone.
