You know what's a far bigger concern than Lara Croft's new cup size? The trend of prequels in gaming. It's this new wonderland where devs cash in on old properties without having to honor any of their established bits because hey, it totally happened before that! Nevermind that the play mechanics are now obviously much more advanced, rendering the older (aka more recent...) game completely nonsensical.

The same argument could be made in the reverse. If its not an intragul part of their character story wise, why do they need big boobs? Really, its much the same as this whole black man playing a norse god thing. They're both cosmetic, not defining as a personality or character.
besides... as I recall, the old Lara wasnt doing to good and kept losing money and making crappy games. While there's less excuse for Dante's make over, Lara's is completely justifiable.

I somewhat agree. But rather, don't understand why people get so uppity over girls with big boobs in games. They are almost implying no girls have them and there's something wrong if you do. Almost acting jealous even, if they are a girl themselves. Why is every other girl having big boobs a problem?

Despite being a long-time fan of the Tomb Raider series, I rather like the 'new' Lara Croft. Actually I believe a character shouldn't be spun around and have there personality altered just for flavor of the moment ideology. That said, yes using boobs as eye candy is wrong. It objectifies women and is anti-feminist and sends and negative message and blah blah blah but on top of that its also becoming economically stupid too. More and more the percentage of male to female gamers (who play games that feature this stuff) is shifting to have more female membership. I don't know about you but I haven't meet a lot of women who would have a favorable look at a game where the tantalization is do thinly veiled. Eventually its going to be far more lucrative to have more realistic depictions and characters. I look forward to that day because if there's one thing I know for sure its that losing moral ground might not bother businesses but losing money does.
this. you throwing a fit over it is nearly just as bad as them signifying it as a selling point. personally if its not a selling point, if its just part of the game that doesn't really hurt anything, sure, cool, big boobs!, but otherwise leave it to the personality/designer of the character.Eri said:
