I am Legend!! I wonder if they just ran out of budget?? good film, THE WORST ENDING!!
Read the book, it will then make perfect sense.
I read the book, still didn't make sense. I get it that they were trying to keep the story the same, but uhh, if my memory serves me right, the book was not set in New York, one monster could talk, I remember no mother son duo, no Shrek, no dog except for one chapter, the main character was white with blond hair, he was not a scientist, he was an alcoholic, he did not off himself with a grenade, and in the movie there was no other society. (I forget what they're called, I think they're vampires who were able to retain saneness. Near the end when they come riding up on bikes.)

Hitman, that all I have to say
I cant remember the ending, but i really enjoyed that film - Can you re-jog my memory?
Ok

SPOILERS...I think...

The ending to Hitman is so cryptic if I get written up for spoiling the ending...well you get the idea.

He doesnt get caught but about a dozen stabs in the back people from his own agency try to kill him and he ends up assassinating the same guy like 5 times because he had body doubles or something.

I DONT UNDERSTAND IT, the reason why i called it bullshit is because NO one in my group of movie aficionado friends understood a damn thing that went on.

Prom Night.

*shudder* so, so terrible...

I am Legend,
The Mist ( I personally think that if that ending had been acted better, it could have been really really good.)

Although, I beleive that the ending to 1408 was quite good. After seeing the movie I went to a bookshop to buy "Everything's Eventual" but couldn't find it. Is the ending in the film the same as the book?

Overall i Really enjoyed the film.

The Knowing w/ Nic Cage.

I was ready to name it my movie of the year...then...fricking aliens.

ALIENS AS THE REASON FOR A PLOT = BAD ENDING TO A MOVIE
You didn't realize those guys where aliens early in the movie?

Back on topic. I am Legend had a terrible ending. Though I think the flying car in Grease is easily the worst ending ever.

The original idea was that Will was supposed to go around whooping and killing them damn dirty vampires until he found out that they had a culture and the Legend of the title was not a positive one (book). However, Hollywood, in their wisdom, found out that a test screening didn't like that ending, so they hastily re-filmed a positive ending without taking out all the subtle clues in the film that the Vampires were a collective family. Possibly the same audience that wanted the Iceberg to miss the Titanic or left the Transformers out of the film.

It was bullshit why? I mean, it's vague and a little complicated. But there's no deus ex machina or plot hax. There's nothing inherent in the plot that should make one go "Oh come on!.

Reign of Fire. the movie wasn't great anyways, but in the end they kill the ONLY female dragon, and its like they saved humanity. Sure the dragons can't reproduce anymore , but those goddamn things will still live and terrorize people for dozens more years at least.

1. EVERYONE is dead ('cept two people but they won't be around very long either), anything that ends like that is bullshit to me.

2. I understand that he was pissed at Asuka, but considering that they were the ONLY two people on the planet, I would figure that there is something that he could think to do that was more productive than kill her.

3. Why is everything dead/gone, I thought that the whole instrumentality thing was meant to work on humans specifically.

Amendment : I know that they aren't really dead, but from where I stand they are effectively dead as they now exsist as some sort of collective being, but my point is that humanity is dead. That is what I hate.

Explanation: As I feel I have already made clear, I hate any ending in which there is NO hope for humanity; and I hate it even more when the characters (the "good" ones I mean) themselves go out of their way to make this the case. For Christ's sake, even Watchmen ended in a way in which humanity was able to pull through. Sure a good many died, but in the end it was a win for humanity. So what I am getting at is that anything that is anti-humans is automatically bullshit to me.

I didn't even understand the ending. It was like they were trying to reach closure, but I didn't know what the fuck was going on.

To be fair, dude, they call Microsoft the Evil Empire for a reason. What could screw up an alien OS faster than an incompatible upload from goddamn EARTH?

Microsoft has been owned and operated by Torchwood for the past 20 years.

ANYWAY, I have it here and now, the perfect premise for an awesome thriller. It may have even been done before and I don't know. Doesn't matter. If we can all agree that a movie that ends with "It was all just a dream." is bad, then this idea is good. All you need is to start the film with a guy who is living a normal everyday life of modern doldrums...AND THEN HE WAKES UP.

As soon as his head hits the pillow, the world explodes into a terror and madness with people killed by unknown things and no proper explanation for why they're there. Like...maybe the world is just different because it's full of monsters and he's deluding himself into thinking his dreams are the real world and he'll awaken from the nightmare. Except he won't. Now, there's a fun idea.
