Divinity 2, literally 20 minutes into the game a Portal reference was dropped so stupidly I stopped playing it for two weeks, that coupled with it being terribly written, completly cliched, not very good looking, terribly buggy, full of the most retarded references ever used EVER! And a difficulty curve that resembles the worlds most exciting roller coaster without the fun and excitement.

Final Fantasy XIII (but I guess I'm just getting to the end of the 20 hour tutorial)
Fallout: New Vegas
BioShock 2 (decent, but the 30 or so crashes that occurred while getting through the campaign that are still not fixed)

So its Mass Effect 1? I mean cover system is there too..actually I didn't even have to cover in Mass effect 1. I could just run and gun down everything. Glad they fixed that in 2 and actually made it a danger to get shot by people. Everything you hate about Mass Effect 2, 1 had as well.

OT: Final Fantasy XIV. I played the hell out of Final Fantasy XI for many, many, many months and then FF XIV comes out and this is what I have been waiting for? No thanks. Terrible game.
Shit, youre right. ME2 plays EXACTLY like ME1 did. Despite the devs admitting that it doesnt. And the fact that in ME1, I upgraded my characters shields in both levels and customisation so that I could use my powers OUTSIDE of cover for nearly the ENTIRE GAME.

Sorry, ME1 had a core gameplay element that OFFERED Gears of War style gameplay.

ME2 has a core gameplay element that FORCES Gears of War style gameplay.

Its why ME1 was a hybrid TPS/RPG and why ME2 is just a TPS. Its not complicated you know.

Fallout: New Vegas and Bioshock 2... (wait.. Bioshock 2 was released in 2010, wasn't it? I think it was... can't remember...)

Also, I'd like to point out that those weren't the worst games, I just expected them to be better than what they were. The worst games are easily Black Ops and Halo: Reach (that I played), but I expected them to be bad, so it wasn't a dissapointment.

I thought New Vegas was going to be different from Fallout 3. It wasn't :(

DmC announcement.
Have you ever heard the sayings "Don't judge a book by its cover"? or "Don't knock it until you've tried it"? Yeah, Dante got a face lift. Big. Fucking. Deal. That doesn't mean that the mechanics have changed drastically, that doesn't mean he isn't the same wise-cracking dork we've come to love. A teaser trailer was released, that's it. For all we know, they could still be working on the way he fights, and the dialogue he's going to say. Actual gameplay and teaser trailer videos are two completely different things. Yeah, he looks different, so what. If anything I'm glad the series is getting a bit of a revamp, it could use it.

As for the biggest disappointment of a game released in 2010 that I've played, I'd say Dante's Inferno. (Granted, I'm not rich so I haven't played many games that were released this year, and I only buy games that I know I'm going to like.)

As far as games that I've bought and played this year that were released in previous years, I'd go with the Legend of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass, the Legend of Zelda: The Four Swords, the Orange Box, Pokemon Trozei, and Star Ocean. (Thank God for Gamestop's used collection.)

Mostly it was Gears 3 being delayed and buying Halo Reach. Complete waste of money, but spending it on something good. Dead Space 2.

Also finding out that Deus Ex was delayed as well. I think I cried a little on the inside.

And also Modern Warfare 2 for the PC (I know it's 2009).

Yes your argument comparing games that have nothing to do with one another is the supreme example of the perfect debate winning line.

I'll say it again, a game that has similar mechanic isn't a ripoff. I remember shooting in gears of war, totaly ripping off grand theft auto. Metroid prime has tricky 3d platforms, totally stealing from mario 64, If the game for you was 50% combat, then I doubt you did any exploration, because I remember those sections in GoW where I flew to another space colony, or in Mass Effect 2 where I threw those grenades before chainsawing a guy in half. Little note, or of the most fun challenges I had was going as a biotic and seeing how far I could get without firing a single bullet only using a gun when I had to, and I can garuntee it wasn't very often, I remember that from GoW. I'm not going to argue for story or cutscens as it is obvious you are trolling there.

But don't worry, just go back to heavy rain because for you the game was mired down by too many sections where you actually play it.
If you like, I could go through the entire game for you, listing off FACTS where the game is just a near constant barage of shooter gameplay?

This isnt an argument, its me stating facts, and you stating falsehoods. The only reason you are suggesting "trolling" is because you are a butthurt fanboy who doesnt like to see ME2 being criticised (fairly common occurance) and starting off by claiming I havent played the game has led me to use language like I have done just previously.

Like I said though, I can give you a runthrough of the entire game, listing off where cover shooting is the most of it.

You see, in ME1, you have to set aside large amounts of the game where it doesnt involve just tedious cover shooter combat. You know, like the multiple visits to the citadel, going through port hanshan, or finding out about the colonists on Feros etc. Time where the devs didnt think "shit, we havent used our Gears clone combat in the last 10 minutes, get back to it, NOW!"
Funnily enough, I found the second one to do the same thing in the first game, but that was probably because I went out looking for sidequests, of which there were several, with the majority not revolving around combat. If you were to complain about the game itself not being structured to make you go to previous places and thus in a roundabout way showing you where all the quests are, then you would have a point.

If you want to list off "FACTS" about where there are "a near constant barrage of shooter gameplay" go right ahead, do it, but time those sections too, it took me around 35 hours to beat the game and get everything first try, and the longest (the ending station) was around 30 minutes, with the vast majority of the gunning being under 5.

Might be surprising but Kane and Lynch 2 Dog Days was a fine example of a demo better than the actual game.

I was so suprirsed.

Hell, I must be in the minority, because I thought 2010 was a great year for gaming, including a whole bunch of underrated gems like Shattered Dimensions, Singularity and War for Cybertron.

As a whole, I'd say Command & Conquer 4. Why, oh why did they choose the final installment in the series to focus on multiplayer bullshit?

I didn't say that, I just said its ME 1 but expanded. Just in ME 2 the actually made use of the cover system. Like I said you can go through ME 1 without even going into hiding. Wheres the fun in that? ME 1 had the focus more on story while ME 2 brought the action in a little bit more. What is so bad about that? You have a game with a still semi decent storyline and nearly everything improved on. ME 2 is not just a TPS and if you think that, you need to re evaluate the game.

Fallout New Vegas

it's like they took Fallout 3 and replaced all the fun and excitement with bugs
