Rico from Killzone 2. Dear god, I hate that guy!
Firstly, he's a gung-ho asshole. Alright the rest of the team are as well, so we can let that slide...
...but then we get to know him a bit more, and we get blindsided by the appalling stereotype. Whereas Cole from Gears of War goes down the "Token Black from the Football Team" road (admittedly with very enjoyable results), Rico has placed himself firmly in the "****** from the Hood" category. He's arrogant, ignorant, excessively violent, uses 'fuck' as a full stop, doesn't give a shit about his supposed 'friends' (even getting some of them killed then shrugging it off with a casual 'fuck you man, whatever') and of course fucks over the whole fucking planet for no reason more than he hadn't pissed anyone off in the last 30 seconds.
I am convinced, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that there are a group of White Supremacists out there who worked on Killzone 2 with the sole intention of making Rico so god-damn terrible that we instantly hate him, and with such intensity that he makes us hate all black people by extension. It really is the only explanation as to why they would ever have put such an unlikable character into a game, and then made us work alongside him for more than half of it.
I would rather play Evergrace all the way through, twice, than play a single level of Killzone which Rico features in.
