Fallout 3
Either with or without Broken Steel, it annoys me. Without it, Fawkes refuses to go in there because it's apparently your destiny and he shouldn't interfere with that. Well Fawkes, it was YOUR destiny to remain imprisoned your whole life and die, but when I saw the opportunity to interfere with it and save you I just did it instead of spouting some moral bullshit that makes no sense! If you have Broken Steel installed, then he stops being such an arse and does it for you (acknowledging the point I just made) but then the ending narration tells you you're a selfish twat! Why? When there's one person with you who can survive the radiation, he should be the one who is sent to bear it, and it's not selfish, it's just logical!

Assassins Creed
I agree with many other's but for a different reason. I don't mind a cliffhanger ending as long as the preceding game is adequately long and doesn't leave you feeling short-changed when the story doesn't conclude, especially as that opens opportunities to make the plot more deep and complex which can be a good thing. What annoys me was the big twist - Al Mualim is evil! I figured that out very early on in the game! First of all, he just behaves like an arsehole, but what really gives it away is how you keep on finding out that the people you'd been sent to kill were actually good guys, and when you ask Mualim about it, he just gives you something shiny to shut you up.

Assassins Creed: Brotherhood.

Me and my freind actually spent an hour after we finished it figuring out what the fuck was happening.

And the cliche cliffhanger with no sequel promise.
Cliffhangers aren't cliche simply by virtue of being cliffhangers, if that's what you're trying to say. And "no sequel promise"? Its ASSASSIN'S CREED. You get sequel promise before the game's released.

Just because you have to theorise what's happened and what's going to happen does not make it a bad ending.

For me, Haze
You go through the enemy carrier and kill them all while they're completely helpless (horribly executed, by the way, maybe if they slowed it down and made it more saddening, it would have been awesome, having to individually execute them or just slowly walk by and watch the horror), blow up the carrier after killing Asshole, and then find out that Old Guy is gonna use Nectar to his own end!

Atelier Iris 3 had a pretty good ending, except for one thing:

Iris (Girl who Edge has loved for a LONG time, but never said anything, she's just come back from the dead...essentially): "What were you going to say to me before?"
Edge: "Iris...I.."
THE END!

You play through ~4 hours getting through enemy lines, grabbing fuel trucks, and having this big battle on the Golden Gate Bridge. Then it ends! 4 hours!? Seriously? That was like 6-7 missions then end. It ends at a chiffheanger and I'm left with this short campaign. Bullshit?

Ahh, I guess I didn't explain that bit properly. I meant that Assassin's Creed doesn't do it, but a lot of games frequently do it.

I have played several games with shitty endings, but one ending was so bad, so anticlimatic that i thought 'WTF!!!!!!!!'

The ending of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadows of Chernobyl is simply terrible. (There may be more than 1 ending, but i have not played it through more than once) You finally come to your goal, that wish-granting huge-ass rock thingy, and here is your wish 'I WANT TO BE RICH', Then you hallisunate (Spelling?) that it rains goldcoins and get crushed under a pile of rubble, THE END.

The game was extremely good in my opinion, but the ending ruined EVERYTHING. I WANTED TO KILL STRELOK FOR F**** SAKE!!!!!!!... But now i think that you actually ARE Strelok >_>

I found nothing weak about the ending. It seemed like a semi-logical conclusion given what Id been told by the Monumental.

It sounds to me that you were disappointed not by the ending but more that the difficulty curve dropped off. You'd been told it was a hard game, raising your expectations, and you found a "Lol I win" spell, Firestorm, and used the shit out of it. Try this. Dont use it. Try challenging yourself. Ive beaten the entire game at soul level 25. I would end up carrying around 500,000 souls at a time and only use them on grass, spice, and weapon upgrades. Does that mean the game was easy? Hell no. Ive been chewed up and spit out at that soul level. Ive beaten the game enough times that I know where all the right equipment is though.

Also. You do realize theres two endings right? You can kill the maiden instead and get an evil ending.

Final Boss, takes five seconds to beat and it cannot kill you... you also cannot miss when you fire. It made up for it in the epilogue though.
It can kill you, it eats you and your chopper if you miss a couple times.
A couple of friends were bored and decided to see if it could kill you.

I liked Fable II probably the most when I wasnt doing things related to the story with Lucien and whatnot. I mean, loved Stephen Fry's character and Shepherd Book's Ron Glass' character but people telling me to gather the remaining members of the Hero race (point that Mr Yahtzee touched on) where I just didnt really know why or have much reason to care, all the stuff at the Spire then it all just kind of flopped at the end. Made some "big" choices but in the end, couldnt remember why I was there in the first place.

Forgot about most of that after I bought Fairfax Castle, though. Place is sweeeeeet

The ending to Drawn to Life 2. Worst shit-ending ever.
I felt like burning that piece of crap after the complete "F*** you!" ending, but burning plastic is toxic. So i sold it incredibly cheap.

Oh yes and Borderlands was a bit dissapointing too. I had to fight the thing all by myself and it turns out it was all for nothing?! wtf, man...However the Cl4p Tr4p ending did make up for that. i lol'd

Assassins Creed 2.
You find out from an ancient dead alien's hologram thing that there's this threat that's going to destroy the world if you don't stop it. And apparantly the Templars are NOT this threat. So what is it? Who knows, the alien doesn't want to tell the future hero for some reason. And she had to know, I mean, she knew exactly where you'd be and what you'd be doing 100's of years after her death at this exact date. So yeah, it was really, really, crappy.
NOT AN ALIEN.

OT: KotOR 2. EUGH. ARGH. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH.
Really? She said stuff like "your kind" and that she was "more advanced in time". She also said that they were not gods. So either she's an alien or a time-traveling advanced human. Either way kind of sucks. Also, whether she was or was not an alien, it was a really crap ending.

And I agree that KoTOR 2 had a bad ending, but at least the main character accomplished something.

imo the worst ending is probably oblivion. you do all the work to get there and then
martin just comes in and kills mehrunes dagon, taking all the glory for the work that you did
i was pretty pissed off by this.
How was that a bad ending! You got to watch an epic fight between two Gods. What exactly were you expecting?
i was figuring since you are the pc and the hero in all the major stuff before the end that you would be the one who killed mehrunes dagon. instead of martin just turning into a dragon a rapin his ass. it would have been better if the ending was like in the knights of the nine. coz then after it all you can say "i killed a daedric lord"
You make up for it in Shivering Isles by defeating Sheogorath, no less.

OT: FABLE. TWO.

I was expecting a boss fight, and got a.. well, as long as it took to press the trigger button and the hit detection to knock Lucien off the platform. And Fable 3 was no bloody better, damnit!

I just finished Fallout 3 (I know, I'm a bit after, but humor me), and just had the biggest letdown ever in a game.
That ending was without doubt the worst one ever of all the games I have played. I got no satisfaction out of playing it to the end and just felt that all of my work had been for nothing if my carater is dead.

And, yes, I know that if I buy Broken Steel, I get to play more, but that is beside the point.

So, what is your worst letdown in a games ending?
I actually liked the fallout 3 ending. The battle with liberty prime is suitably epic and theough there is not much of a final boss the game ends with a pretty good moral choice. And the speech at the end with the montage of your adventures is pretty damn awesome. While the fact that the game ended when you finish was pretty annoying Broken steel Fixed it and added enough content to be worth the DLC price.

I liked th ending of Fallout 3, at least on a story telling level. It is one of the worst endings because of the inability to play after the events at Project Purity (of course with the exception of BS) i'll give you that. But the narrative was great, i actually felt upset playing it first time when i had no idea what was going to happen. That resonated with me as a gamer and was one of the reasons why i count Fallout 3 as one of my favourites of all time.

I get why people think its one of the worst ending, but don't judge it too harshly
